A GREY & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 16th/ NOVEMBER 2018.

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels, down to Sabinillas, for the weekly shopping, I had a quick toast & tea in ‘ itZabar’ before ‘ Mercadona’ opened, I called into the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers and then carried on down to the ‘Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ to go to the ‘ English Butchers’ for the large `Pork Chops’ for our Sunday evening supper. On the way back up the hill I stopped at ‘Super Sol’ for some more English essentials, after unloading back at the house I put the car away.

Later I took Brenda down to the main ‘ Medical Centre’ for her appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, who was delighted to see us both, she checked out Brenda’s readings, adjusted her prescriptions and ordered a Blood Test etc, for week on Tuesday.

This morning has stayed dry, for now, it’s very grey & cloudy with a overcast sky and stiff breeze, it’s forecast to reach 18 degs+ by lunchtime, by later this evening the ‘ wet-stuff’ is due to hit us, staying the same all over the weekend and all of next week, we are in for ‘Rain’ – heavy at times, going a lot cooler, as the week go’s on, down to 13 degs by this time next week, watch this space.

See below the ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ this morning before the bad weather/storms hit later!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Posh Fish n’ Chips’ – Fillets of Hake coated in ‘Cruzcampo Beer Batter’ – then deep-fried in Vegetable Oil, served with lots of Lemon Wedges and ‘ Homemade ‘ Tartar sauce, accompanied with Mushy Peas and twice-cooked ‘ Chips’

On Saturday evening it’s going to be “ Steak au Poivre “ – the old classic ‘Flambe’ dish, using in my recipe of ‘ French’ trimmed Entrecote Steaks, coated in cracked Black Peppercorns & finished in a rich & creamy sauce, made with finely chopped Shallots, a little Dijon Mustard, a dash of Lea & Perrins & Tabasco, Double Cream and ‘ Flamed’ in Cognac! -Served with whole ‘ French’ Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘ Shoestring  Frits’

Yesterday evening after supper we watched the final episode of ‘ Dark Heart’ as the murderer committed suicide and the sister of the Detective, went mad, over her family problems, caused by him! This evening we will be channel hopping to find something a little more ‘ easy’ to watch!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
