A VERY HOT AND REFRESHING DAY IN SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 19th/ JULY 2014

Well we had a good long lie in this morning after last night’s celebrations/festivities here in sunny Manilva; we did not go out later to the all-night “ Castillrockfest” in the park down in Castillo Duquesa! – and no we are not going down to the Beach/Foam party today in Sabinillas!!

The forecast for the weekend is looking very good with the help of a little ‘Levante’breeze making it more bearable; next week its more of the same and getting hotter - we will survive down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ in sunny Manilva – it’s a hard life but somebody has to do it!!

On the ‘Tartar Sauce War’ we have called a truce as after last night’s ‘taste-off’ as we all agreed that there was no discernable difference in the ingredients, texture and taste!

We had a very nice evening with Den & Josie and later up at Bar Rojas we sat out under the stars with a front row balcony seat view to watch the ‘Flamenco Fashion Show’ as you can see in the picture’s below, three of the leading ladies were Marta from down our street, Alba singing, who lives just around the corner and Valentina from the ‘Foreign Residents Department’ - ‘Posing!’

We then came back down to our house for a nightcap with Den & Josie who are joining us this evening with Claus & Doreen to go to the “ Moroccan Banquet’ at ‘Victors Restaurant’ up at the Manilva Green Aparthotel which is taking place by the pool in the open with tents,BBQs and of course Belly Dancers! Watch this space later for the pictures.

Today in the ‘Tour De France’ stage 14 is a legendry stage from Grenoble to Risoul in the Alps with three major climbs ending up at the top at Risoul! Over in Germany at the ‘Grand Prix’ at Hokenheim the qualifying takes place later, meanwhile over at the ‘Royal Liverpool – Hoylake’ at the ‘Open Golf’ Rory Mcllroy is four shots in the lead at 12 under par as day three tees off!

Yesterday in the lunchtime post we received a very nice surprise ‘Aerogram’ – we didn’t know they were still used – from Jane’s mum ‘Nan’ who is a very young 94 next weekend, she has lovely joined-up hand righting and her personality shines through, we had just posted her birthday card in the morning!! So nice to receive any sort of non-mechanical letter these days, that why we still send good old fashioned and still receive cards on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays!! Keep them coming!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
