WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 12th/ MARCH 2014.

We had a nice long lie in this morning after all the traveling around over the last two days; just as we finishing breakfast we had a call on the Skype video from Tim over in Old Colwyn, North Wales, so we had a good long catch up about the ‘Gang of Four’s’ adventures round Australia!

It started as they landed when the bakes on the ‘Airbus A380’ went on fire – that was what all the fire engines were for! On the diverted flight from Alice Spring to Darwin then onto Cairns they plane was hit and caught by an electrical storm and dropped a great distance! They were of course a little concerned about the flight home after the latest loss of the flight on the news.

Up in Cairns they went on the spectacular 120 year old ‘Kuranda Scenic Railway’ through the rainforest over 34kms,crossing 37 bridges and going through 15 tunnels to the village; they came back to Cairns on the ‘Skyrail’ above the forest on the 7.5kms Cableway stopping on the way to see the rainforest and waterfalls! Climbing the ‘Sydney Harbour Bridge’ sounds rather special to say the least – The ‘Great Ocean Road’ below Melbourne also sounds another great memory - all the picture later as Tim is posting them on Facebook over the weekend.

Of course they have eaten themselves around the country on large Steaks, Camel, Emu, Alligator etc and lots of tropical fish including ‘Barramundi’ At Ayers Rock they stayed at the “Sails in the Desert” five star resort which looks very special and expensive! More to follow;

Back here in sunny Manilva I had yesterday an E-Mail update from Bedwyr about the ‘Hotel Seventy Degrees’ project which is starting to take shape, the animators are starting this week. He’s still trying to come over to interview us and we are in contact with him to answer more details about the interior etc.

Two results from yesterday at the hospital; the Eye Consultant gave Brenda a good report and said that her readings and pressure test had got better so there is no need for any further treatment ,come back in October for a re-view! I also finalized my appointment with my Prostrate Consultant for the results of the ‘Bi-opsy’ – so ‘D’ day in on the 2nd of April at 9-30am! Fingers crossed and watch this space!!

This evening’s supper is ‘Baked Pork Chops’ English cut with caramelized ‘Fuji’ Apple slices, Brenda is at this moment getting ready the Cabbage with Alselgas and Carrots and Baby Turnips and I will get the ‘Breton’ style potatoes on the go later, diced boiled potatoes tossed in foaming butter with diced Red and Green Pepper and Onions.

Afterwards we will catch up with the news and sport including the highlights of the Barcelona v Manchester City game; this afternoon I’ am going to try and watch the horse racing from the ‘Cheltenham Festival’ if I can find a good ‘IT’ connection of the sports channel on the large PC. Success - at the moment I'am watching live 'At  The Races' !! Now I've managed to get the 'Channel 4' coverage live!!

Well Barcelona won 2-1 and 4-1 on agg - sadly City did nor play very well'

Thought for the Day; See above.
