WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 21st/ MARCH 2014.

Well we were up again bright and early this morning and shot down to the surgery for our appointment with our doctor; we up-dated our prescriptions and records, then Brenda picked up some plants from the local market before we shot down to Sabinillas for the shopping, called into the bank and picked up the papers. When we returned to the house I then went down to the butchers for our ‘Saturday Night’ steak.

Today is a shirt-sleeve day here in a warm and sunny Manilva, the forecast has not changed so after tomorrows little hick-up we are in for some more fine weather next week; we will go for a walk with Chispa after she’s been washed and shampooed at home – later at lunchtime ‘Scruffy’ is being dropped off for his first day with us to see that he is OK! Pictures and news up-date later.

We have just come back from our walk with Chispa and Scruffy around the village; they have started to paint the new passage way,Scruffy won't keep still to have his picture taken,he's sat at my feet in Chisp's spot as I'am typing this! As you can also see he has brought his own luxury bed with him - 'Scruffs!'

Tonight’s supper is ‘Paupiette’s’ of Fillets of Hake in a ‘Duglere’ sauce – I will roll the fillets after filling them with some diced Prawns, then poached in a ‘Court Bouillon’- they are then coated with the sauce which is made with finely chopped Shallots, Lemon juice, Fish Veloute,chopped Parsley and Tomato Concasse,a little cream added at the last moment! Garden Peas and ‘Saffron’ sautéed Potatoes to accompany the ‘Fish Special!’

We will be up on the roof terrace later to catch up with our reading before its time for our ‘Happy Hour’ Earlier in the afternoon I watched a fascinating documentary about the ‘Meteorite’ that crashed outside the city of Chelyabinsk in Russia back in 2013; it was filmed from all sorts of cameras as the Russian’s all have them on their windscreens in their cars, due to the bad driving over there! It was larger than a double-decker bus and broke into flames, the shock wave injured 100s of people. It was like watching a movie – but it was for real!!

Yesterday in the early evening we watched “ Rocketeer’ from 1991 with Billy Campbell, Jennifer Connelly, Alan Arkin,Tomothy Dalton and Paul Sorvino,later after watching some of the children’s ‘La Voz – The Voice’ we then caught a Steven Segal movie ‘Glimmer Man’

Thought for the Day; See above.
