THE BACK STREETS OF MANILVA.

WEDNESDAY 9TH FEBRUARY 2011.

At lunchtime today we went for a short walk with Cheta around the back streets of Manilva; so as we went I took some pictures of the oldest part of the village around our street,Calle San Vicents where we live. The “ Senora ” kept getting in the pictures as you can see ! The local council has nearly finished a programme of resurfacing all the old streets even making some traffic free as well as putting in seats, plants, new kerbs etc. On the far side of the village they are putting in new side walks and kerbs and tarmacking the roads; and finally the old ring road which looks out across to the mountains is also getting the treatment. There is a new small park in the village at the top end on the way out and of course at the start of last year they put in the fountain by the church and a water feature at the end of Calle Mar. Jose our butcher’s shop is just around the corner from us opposite the house of Carlos’s wife Anna Marie parents where we went for Christmas Eve.
