A VERY ' FRESH' & WINDY SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 20th/ FEBRUARY 2020.    “ 20-02-2020 “ !

We had another nice lie in this morning before getting up to start the day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ in sunny Manilva, after freshening up Brenda took ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, around the bottom of the village past all his usual ‘ spots’ – when she returned we had our breakfast, once again, as I was on the breakfast rota I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of tea, to start the day in the right direction.

Speaking of ‘Day’ – it’s nearly a ‘ Palindrome Day ‘ – ( see above!) – actually at the start of the month we had one ie; 02-02-2020 ! ( it can be read the same way backwards and forward!)

This morning it’s still rather cold & windy, the sky is clearing slowly, with a few patchy clouds hanging around, by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 17 degs+ overnight only dropping to 11/12 degs+ - the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ has been blown away and we are in for a dry weekend, but still windy, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ – next week is looking a lot more settled, with warm sunshine from Tuesday onwards, back up to 21/22 degs+ the rest of the week staying in the high ‘ teens’ with a few patchy clouds and lighter breezes, watch this space.

Over in Liverpool next week, on Tuesday the first ‘ Cruise Liner’ of the season is due to arrive, it’s the ‘Maiden Voyage ‘ of the “ Scarlet Lady’ – built by ‘ Fincantieri of Italy’ for ‘Virgin Voyages’ “

Then next Friday, on it’s ‘ Maiden Voyage – Sea Trails’ – of the “HMS Prince of Wales ( RO9) – the second ‘ Queen Elizabeth’-class aircraft carrier, which has just left Portsmouth and is due to berth for a week’s visit!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Omelettes of Choice ‘ – as usual ‘ Cheese’  ( Cheddar & Parmesan) for Brenda and my favourite ‘ Paysanne’ ( Diced-Fried Onion, Smoked Bacon, Potatoes etc) with some finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans and a Baked Potato,  tomorrow evening it’s going to be ‘Goujons of Hake Fillet in a ‘Cruzcampo Beer’ Batter’ – with ‘ Mushy Peas’ and triple-cooked ‘ Chips’! On Saturday it’s our regular ‘ Steak Night’ – then on Sunday it’s going to be ‘Braised Shank of Lamb’ in a Minted Gravy, with a selection of Vegetables and ‘ Pommes Rissolees ‘!!

We are having an at home day today, taking things very easy, relaxing and basically doing nothing, because we can! This afternoon we will catch up with all the ‘Quiz Shows’ that we follow and later after supper channel hop to find something to watch, over the next few weeks/months we have the return of ‘ Last Tango in Halifax, Line of Duty and then Killing Eve’ – watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
