A WARM AND VERY SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 18th/ SEPTEMBER 2019.

We managed another nice lie in this morning, after freshening up, as I was on the breakfast rota, I had my famous & favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda with her favourite ‘ sautéed ‘sliced Mushrooms ( in the bacon fat juices!) – with mugs of hot/strong tea to get us ready for the day ahead.

‘Chispa’ has been in & out all morning to see us, sadly with no friends here, ‘Scruffy’ is back with us for a sleep-over on Thursday evening and then on Friday afternoon ‘Chico’ is with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ for a short 6 day break.

As we were getting our ‘act’ together I was listening to the ‘ Andrew Charles Breakfast Show’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW”  as this week’s ‘Music Quiz’ came on, it was a four second burst, which I got straight away, it was David Bowie with ‘ Starman ‘ – as usual I’m in the draw on Friday morning, again!

See below a picture of a rather sad looking ‘ Calle Mar’ after the ‘Council’ have ripped down the canopy, still without any explanation! The main/only opposition party ‘ IU’ are not happy and have asked for an answer at the next ‘Council’ monthly meeting! Watch this space.

This morning the sun broke through a little earlier, the sky is clearing with a few patchy clouds hanging around as there is just a very light breeze, by lunchtime it’s going to reach 28 degs+ - hot for the time of the year, its’ going to be the same tomorrow, then on Friday/Saturday we could be in for some of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’-  going a little cooler, but still with just a light breeze, then from Sunday it will pick up into next week, hovering in the mid 20s – overnight only down to 19/20 degs, by the following weekend of the 29th – still sunny and warm, 23/24 degs+ in time for the arrival on the ‘ Canadian Clan’ Watch this space.

“ Countdown 12 Days “

After breakfast I got this evenings supper on the go; my famous “ Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole “ – I sweat-off the diced Onion, Shallot & Garlic, with a dash of ‘ Lea & Perrins & Tabasco’ - then add the diced Leeks, Carrots, Celery, Turnips & chopped Parsley, before adding the diced fresh Mushrooms and a tin of Baby Mushrooms ( they keep their shape) together with a little ‘Bechamel’ sauce, before de-glazing the pan with a large glass of Brenda’s White Wine! It’s then time to add a rich Chicken & Vegetable stock.

At the same time I diced the Chicken Breast and tossed them in seasoned flour, then sautéed off in Vegetable Oil, before adding to pan, to cook-off under the eye of the ‘ Second Chef’ The ‘ aromas’ are wafting upstairs to the office/studio! It’s being served with Garden Peas & florets of Broccoli & Cauliflower in a Cheese sauce( for Brenda) together with Parsley New Potatoes.

At lunchtime in the post there was two more birthday cards, one from Australia and one 'LARGE' one from the UK - thanks - the 24th September is just six days away ( Malcolm!)

Last night after supper we watched the next very gripping episode of “ The Capture “ with more un-explained video camera, time changes, the ‘MI5’ agent turning up as Police Superintendent in charge of the ‘SOE’ surveillance unit, the ‘ CIA’ playing dirty, the main lady Detective being giving the run around by all of them, and the main character set up by his best mate, after lending him his car only for him to find the dead body of a female in the boot?! Watch this space.

PS; yesterday morning another large cruise liner arrived in Liverpool and was berthed at the Pier head for the day, as usual, the " Seaborn Ovation " - then see later leaving the River Mersey, past Crosby beach.
