A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 25th/ SEPTEMBER 2019.

We managed a little lie in this morning, ‘ Chico’ slept all night under our bed on the marble floor, he’s due to be picked up later today, we are going to miss him terribly, as he’s such great company and very easy to look after, a real character.

I was listening to the ‘ Andrew Charles Breakfast Show’ on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ as this week’s ‘Music Quiz’ came on, an 11 second, in reverse track, I got it straight away, it was the “ Pink Floyd “ with ‘ Money’ from 1973! As usual I’m in the winners draw on Friday morning! Watch this space.

After freshening up Brenda took him for his first/last walk of the day around the bottom of the village, when she returned we had our usual/regular light breakfast of, for me, ‘Weetabix’ with fresh fruit( sliced Banana) and brown toast for Brenda, with mugs of tea. Brenda then shot along to the local Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ for some of our prescription tablets, the gas-bottle delivery man then called, the price, controlled by the ‘National’ Government, has dropped a little!

I then got this evenings supper on the go, my now famous “ Beef & Mushroom Curry “ with Brenda’s equally famous ‘Basmati Rice’! The local Butchers excellent diced Beef ( cut to order) is tossed in seasoned flour and browned off, I then make the sauce, sweating off the diced Onions & Garlic, in a light Vegetable Oil, with a good dash of ‘Lea & Perrins & Tabasco’ along with six sorts of ‘Curry Powder’-  before adding the whole Baby Mushrooms ( tinned) and diced Pineapple ( tinned) along with diced ‘ Fuji Appals’ – a large spoon of ‘Tomato Frito and Lime Juice’ is next, not forgetting the Desiccated Coconut, together with two Curry Pastes, it’s then time to add the browned-off Beef, as well as a rich ‘Beef & Vegetable’ stock, adjusting the taste before leaving it to cook-off under the very able eye of the ‘ Second Chef’! Served the evening with Garden Peas and sliced Banana. The ‘aromas’ are wafting upstairs to the office/studio and around the house, as well as outside and up our street!!

The sun was out early this morning and sky was clear & blue by the time we were up, there are a few patchy clouds about, with a light breeze, so by lunchtime it due to reach 29/30 degs+ - over the next couple of day and the weekend it’s going a little cooler, hovering on the 25 degs mark, as the family from Canada arrive on Sunday.

Now for the very ‘Good News’ – next week is now going to be a ‘Hot-One’ as the breeze drops, in the highs 20s, reaching 31 degs+ by next Tuesday, and carrying on into the weekend, overnight hovering on the 20 degs mark, hot for the time of the year! The ‘ Sun Gods’ have been good to us, for the week’s stay of the ‘Canadian Clan’ Watch this space-

See below a picture taken back in 2006 in the garden of our dear friends Graham & Zoe, in Marple Bridge, Stockport, outside Manchester, just before we set off on our ' Travels'!

Last night after supper we settled down to watch the next very gripping episode of “ A Capture “ on the ‘ BBC I Player ‘ as the ‘IPTV’  system has not come back online, at the moment, ‘ Fingers Crossed’ that it does soon, as the provider is telling us!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
