SUNNY AND VERY HOT MANILVA ON TUESDAY

TUESDAY 2Oth/ AUGUST 2013.

Brenda has gone down on the early bus to go for her walk along the beach and take a dip, she is staying on the bus to Duquesa and then going along the beach back to Sabinillas; she is then going to the English bookshop to exchange some books as we have finished our current’ Patterson’s’

The work on ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’is at its most busy as the strive to get it finished, this morning I spoke to Mario our local councilor, who is the man in charge of all the new work projects, he was ‘On-site’ checking on the progress and was not very optimistic that they would succeed!! They had just delivered some decorative stone plaques to go on the front wall of the park as you can see in the pictures above!

As I was going down later to meet Brenda off the bus Antonia, the Mayor was in the park also checking on the progress, they were just putting up on the front of the wine vat/press a Mosiac Mural as you can see above!

Yesterday in the early evening Mano called as he was out walking his other dog, Feria so he had a go with ‘Jazztel’to try and arrange for a new ‘Free’ Smart mobile –‘Pay as you go’ for Brenda; he nearly got there but is calling back in today later to hopefully finish off the details as he is dropping Anna off at Malaga airport this morning as she is going over to Manchester and then North Wales for a week to see family. We are ‘Baby – sitting’ ‘Derrick’ Anna’s dog as usual when she is away!

Mano called back in on Tuesday evening and managed to get Brenda's new mobile phone organized so its in the post/courier in the next 48hrs! It will be the same number 678025599 - hopefully ! Its the latest Smart phone so she is going to have to get to know how to use it! Watch out for a call or text in the next week,or so!

The weather in the morning starts very overcast and close but then the sun breaks through and it gets hot! Here in sunny Manilva we still have a little breeze which makes it bearable at a steady 36degs but inland in Cordoba, Jaen, Granada it’s now over 40degs all the time and in Seville yesterday it reached 46degs and our part of Andalusia is on a severe hot weather ‘Orange’ alert for old people and children especially! Today in Madrid its going to be 42degs as central Spain also is very hot at this time of the year, in fact Madrid ‘Closes’ down in August!

Its coming across from Africa on the’Levante’ wind and at the same time all the cars, roofs, terrace’s etc. get covered in Sahara sand! We have to wash the car twice a week first thing in the morning before the sun reaches it in the back square, even then it dries before you have finished!

We are having an easy day as tonight we are meeting Di up at Bar Rojas for supper, its her last day here as we taking her to the airport on Wednesday morning. Watch this space! Fingers crossed!!

We have just come back from Bar Rojas after having a lovely meal and evening sat under the stars on a balmy evening in sunny Manilva; We met out friend Gillian so she joined us for supper,as we were talking and introducing her to Di it came up in conversation that Di works at " Holland Park Comprehensive"as the child protection officer,it turned out that Gillian was a music teacher there over 30 years ago - it's a small world ! See the picture above of the girls on our crossing in front of Bar Rojas!

Last night I watched the Manchester City game up in the office on the large PC on my sports channel on-line contact, in fact I got the 'Sky Sports' new TV double act of Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher as City thrashed Newcastle 4-0,it could have been 8 nil or more except for their Dutch goalkeeper ‘Tim Krul’who was their best player and saved at least four certain goals!

Thought for the Day; See above.
