SUNNY AND A VERY HOT MANILVA AT THE START OF 'VENDIMIA' WEEK

MONDAY 26^th/ AUGUST 2013.

We had a nice lie in this morning and after our tea, toast and fresh fruit I went to the local bank in Calle Mar, then called into the chemists opposite for some prescriptions and to check my weight and blood pressure, both OK!

I then went down to our butchers for some supper for tonight, I chose a Breast of Chicken sliced into Escalope’s to have this evening as ‘Chicken Schnitzels’ with Sliced Green Beans and crushed Potatoes tossed in foaming Butter with my famous Tomato salsa on the side; also I picked up some very nice Calves Liver, again sliced into Escalope’s for tomorrow nights super!

The weather forecast is looking fine for the week and it looks like it will be just a little cooler for the ‘Vendimia Festival’ at the weekend – which is good. Speaking of which, this morning after dropping the food off at the house we went for a walk around the village before it got to hot and I took some pictures of the new ‘ Plaza de la Vendimia’They are working all over the park in the final rush to get it ready on time?! Behind Carlos’s Antique Bar he has his grapes out on the drying beds already, the Grapes this year have come early, our neighbour Anna passed some of her’s in yesterday, they are sweet Moscatel.

This afternoon I will be watching on TVE1 the 3^rd stage of the ‘Vuelta 2013’- its from Vigo,the largest city in Galicia to finish on the ‘ Mirador de Loberia in Arousa’ over 185kms.- again along the spectacular coast of the region. The USA rider Chris Horner won the stage and took over the RED jersey at the same time - see the picture blog above.

We will be back up on the roof terrace later in the afternoon for our ‘Happy Hour’ reading out latest ‘Patterson’s’ and listening to the radio – loud! Tonight Real Madrid are playing Granada in ‘La Liga’We will catch up with all the news and weather forecast later before settling down to watch a film.A bit of a surprise in the weather forecast for Wednesday,Thursday and Friday - storms?! That could prove a problem for the Friday night 'Fandango' concert outside the Town Hall for the start of the 'Vendimia' weekend !!

PS; Granada 0 - Real Madrid 1 and over in England there was a boring,tame game at Old Trafford as Manchester Utd and Chelsea drew!!

PPS; The late film was " Chaos " from 2005 with Jason Statham,Ryan Phillippe and Wesley Snipes -I can never understand what Jason Statham is saying ??!! Is it me or am I right ??!!
