SUNNY AND A VERY HOT MANILVA ON THURSDAY

THURSDAY 22nd/AUGUST 2013.

Brenda has gone off again down to the beach in Sabinillas, this morning she got a lift with one of regular’s that used to drop us down! I had Derrick with me so I’ve been for walk around the village before it gets too hot; its full steam ahead this morning in ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ as they try to get finished in time as you can see in the pictures above.

Later this morning I met Brenda off the bus,she was looking a little 'Ragged' and damp! She had not taken her sun glasses, left her bottle of iced water behind, been hit by a large wave and drowned and finally she had to 'Blag' her way onto the bus because she had lost her bus fare out of her pocket !! She should not be let out on her own at her age !!!

It’s a quiet day at home today so we are in ‘Training’ for next weekend’s festivities; it’s a hard three days for the ‘Vendimia’ Festival! Over in England Jenny was at the hospital for the day having some nasty scans and her other sister Norah had a funny turn while out shopping; Brenda called them both last night and they are both OK.

The forecast is more of the same over the next week as the temperatures continue to rise; the nights are also getting hotter. We spend all our time in the house just in shorts for me and with tops for Brenda! I cook in them with my apron on in just in case of splashes! All the typing in the office is done with the minimum on; don’t think about it to much, as it gets rather hot! What we sacrifice for our public!!

Tonight we have no plans yet for supper so when Brenda gets back from her ‘Jolly’ down on the beach we will find something, possible Omelet and salad for Brenda and Egg, Sausage and Chips for me!  The late classic film this evening is “ Doctor Zhivago” from 1965!

PS; Today's " Google " title is an animation to celebrate the 151st anniversary of the birth of the French composer Claude Debussy; as you click on it plays his most famous piece 'Claire Du Lune' Listen, relax and enjoy !

Thought for the Day; See above.
