MANILVA.

SUNDAY 11TH / NOVEMBER 2012.

After a lie in on Sunday morning we had an egg buttie for breakfast to set us up for the day; the sun is out and the sky is blue and the forecast is looking ok for the next few days but still cool – 19 degs! After freshening ourselves up I managed to get on the BBC News page live coverage of the Remembrance Day Service from the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London. This year it fell on the 11TH November and for a change the weather in London was sunny and crisp as the Queen led the nation in remembering the war dead,honouring the fallen of the armed forces who died fighting in all conflicts since the First World War; at the first stroke of Big Ben at 11am the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery fired a single shot to mark the start of the two minutes silence.

It was a sports afternoon with the MotorGP from Valencia on TVE1 when Pedrosa won after Lorenzo crashed, and the English football on the PC; Liverpool managed a draw at Chelsea 1-1 and City had good win at Spurs when they came from behind to win 1-2 – over here both Barcelona and Real Madrid won away as Messi passed Pele’s milestone of goals in a calendar year by scoring two to make it 76! Later in the afternoon we watched a good Nicholas Cage film called “ National Treasure ”from 2004 with a strong cast,Diane Kruger,John Voight,Sean Bean, Harvey Keitel and Christopher Plummer.

For supper we had Turkey Escalope pan fried in Lemon Butter with Basmati Rice topped with fried Red and Green Peppers, sliced Green Beans and a creamy Mushroom sauce;it was then film time so we caught on TVE1 ( No Adverts ! ) “ Transformers ” from 2007 – the stars are the ‘ Transformers ’ !!

Thought for the Day;

We learn courageous action by going forward whenever fear urges us back.
