MANILVA START OF THE WEEKEND.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY 8th/9th NOVEMBER 2012.

It was still raining on Thursday, four days of continuous downpour; we spent the day pottering about the house and catching up with chores, in the evening after supper we settled down to watch the two bond films; from 1983 “ Octopussy ”with Roger Moore and Louis Jordan as the baddie and “ Diamonds Are Forever ” from 1971 with Sean Connery, Jill St.John and Charles Grey.

As usual on Friday morning, weather permitting, we went down to Sabinillas for the weekend shopping, collected three sets of papers and went and collected our tickets for the trip to Sanluca de Barrameda next Saturday; we just made it back to the market to pick up some fresh vegetables and local Potatoes before the next shower. The rest of the day kept dry and the sun even came out ! The weekend is looking dry and sunny but a little cooler as there is an icy front coming across from the Atlantic; Anna called in and took her and Sally’s papers, we then sorted ourselves out for the weekend, no roast on Sunday, we are going to have for a change Turkey Escalope with Rice and a creamy Mushroom sauce. I made a fresh Tartare Sauce to have with the ‘ Guojons of Hake ’that I prepared for supper,the local breadcrumbs from the bakery are excellent and we had them with crisp square chips and Garden Peas after which we watched for a change a science fiction disaster movie called “ Knowing ” from 2009 with Nicolas Cage and a young actor Chandler Canterbury – one not to miss !

PS; The pictures below were taken this morning,Saturday,on a beautiful sunny day.

Thought for the Day;

It is not the situation that makes the man, but the man who makes the situation.
