CASA OLIMPIA MINUS DAY THREE.

Wednesday 17th.June 2009.

First thing this morning I rang the surgery and managed to get an appointment for ten o’clock; we shot across to Manilva and our doctor who speaks very good English ran over all the results with us, basically he said that I am as fit as he is and have no worries, just keep taking the tablets! As we arrived back at Casa Olimpia the sea mist had not still cleared so it was not very good for any ship spotting; suddenly out of the mist a very large shape appeared with a very distinct funnel, the ship was all white and was the largest cruise liner that we have seen going past in the Strait so far. On checking on my on-line web page showing all the shipping in the Strait I discovered that it was the “Oceana”on its way to Southampton after a Mediterranean cruise, I then clicked onto the P/O page and got all the facts about the ship as well as getting connected to the live web cam on the front of the boat; 77,500 tons, 21 knots, 2,200 passengers, 10 decks and 850 crew! Sorry no picture due to the mist! Later we watched Royal Ascot, which is a bonus as we would not normally see it on Spanish TV. Tomorrow is the Gold Cup with Yeats going for its fourth win in four years, one to watch! For supper we had Sausages with Smoked Bacon, from the English butchers.
PS; Yeats just won !!
