CASA OLIMPIA, DAY NINE.

Saturday 13th June 2009.

One of the trips out that we had planned was to take Jack and Lyn to see Gibraltar whilst staying with us in Manilva; so on Saturday morning we dropped down the hill past Algeciras, on the way you could not see the Rock as it was covered in thick sea mist but as we got nearer it started to clear. Mano and Anna go across to Gibraltar to shop and they say that the best time to go is early on a Saturday morning, it proved right as we drove straight in without stopping and with no other cars in front of us! At the moment there are a lot of road works in the center of the town and as usual there was no where to park and we could not get to the multi-story car park; we gave them the quick tour and came back across the runway just as the barriers came down as an aircraft was landing. The picture shows us in front of the Rock as the mist cleared. The last picture taken on Friday is of the happy honeymoon couple having a siesta on the balcony and was taken by Brenda! In the evening we had for dinner Entrecote Steak pan-fried in Garlic butter with Sauté Onions, Mushrooms, Balsalmic Tomatoes and homemade crispy chips. We then watched the TV and caught up with the news after another great day with Jack and Lyn.

PS; Sadly over night we had the phone call that we have all been dreading,Jenny,Brenda,Norah and Lyn's younger sister rang to say that her husband,John ,had passed away during the night after a very long illness; all our love and deepest sympathy go to her and John's family at this very sad time.
