A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 18th / AUGUST 2016.

I was up first this morning to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, we then managed a little further lie in before breakfast, we put together the shopping list for tomorrow morning and sorted ourselves out for the day ahead. ‘ Chispa’ came calling later in the morning to see her friend and us! We now hear her coming, running, up the street with her new bell on her collar! Brenda is just going out along to the ‘ Chemists’ in Calle Mar for her tablets and at the same time her morning walk, later she’s washing her hair.

We have another very sunny & hot day here in sunny Manilva, the sun was out early and by lunchtime its due to reach 36degs+ - over the weekend its getting hotter and next week we are in for the hottest week so far this year, watch this space.

This evening as its the ‘ Chef’s & Staff ‘ night off we are going ‘out on the town’ up to ‘Bar Castillo’ for a late Tapas supper in the cooler evening air, tomorrow evening it’s going to be a ‘ Fish Supper ‘ and on Saturday evening its ‘ Steal Night’ – then on Sunday we are having my now famous “ Smoked Chicken & three Green Bean Risotto “

Yesterday afternoon & evening we channel hopped here on Spanish TV and over on UK TV as the Track Cycling has finished, the Spanish sports channel ‘TDP’ covers most of the sports over in Rio but concentrate’s, of course, on the Spanish competitors, we will catch the high lights programme on the main news.

It’s  now very quiet in the village and not very much going on as we are in the hottest time of the year, the Council workmen will finish putting up the green sun covers along Calle Mar later in the month in time for the ‘ Vendemia Festival ‘ over the first weekend in September, the ‘Moscatel’ Grape crop is looking very good this year,see below, it’s the first time for the New Council to arrange the Festival so we are waiting to see how they go on, watch this space!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
