A OVERCAST BUT STILL WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 17 TH OCTOBER 2015.

We had our first lie in of the week this morning as the village was very quiet,after our usual “ Campo” Poached Eggs on Toast Brenda went to shampoo her hair and I made this evenings supper of “ Braised Steak & Onions” ready to go in the oven this evening along with her famous “Mashed Potato” as I am going across to Malaga Airport to collect Andy in his car.

Andy has just called from England to say that he is getting in later so we cancelled the Braised Steak and are going to have tomorrow night instead of the "Roast Loin of Pork" as I have some extra stewing steak!

Its a little overcast this morning but at the moment there is no sign of the wind and rain,the forecast for the start of next week is not looking good with more of the wet stuff to come! It arrived at lunchtime with a vengeance and it is now flooding down our street!

“ Charlie” has arrived for his sleep over and later “ Reina” is being dropped off for a sleep over also,they get on very well; next week we are busy in “Doggy World Heaven” as Reina is with us on Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday, we also have the two new dogs,Barney & Masie with us for a short break holiday from Thursday to Monday!

On the sports front this weekend over in the Premiere League Liverpool travel down to Tottenham for the first time under their new manager Jurgen Klopp, Manchester City are at home to Bournemouth and the match of the day is when Everton welcome Manchester Utd to Goodison! Over here in “ La Liga” Real Madrid are at home to Levante and Barcelona welcome Ray Valecano.

Later today I will be watching the Rugby World Cup, which is on ITV, as Wales play South Africa and this evening while I am out Brenda is going to watch “ Strictly Come Dancing”( via Film On )

Last night after supper we settled down to watch some English TV for the first time in many years using the new system of my old Dell PC connected to the large screen TV USING THE “ Film On” channel.( See above)

We first watched the end of the new “Open all Hours” on BBC 1 before going over to BBC 2 to see the new series of “ Great Continental Rail Journeys” with Michael Portillo as he travelled from the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, to Istanbul along the route of the old “ Orient Express” It reminded me of when I caught the original “ Orient Express” back in 1965 in Austria to go to Paris – that is another story for another day!

We then went back to BBC 1 to watch “ The Graham Norton Show” which was very good with an excellent live performance from Rod Stewart! Finally it was back to BBC 2 for “ Later with Jools Holland” with his usual mix of eclectic music.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
