A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA & SOTOGRANDE ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 3^rd/ JUNE 2015.

No lie in needed this morning, we are up and sorting ourselves out for the day ahead; after a quick breakfast we are getting ready to go out a little later after choosing the outfits, showering etc. The sun is out and its going to be another hot one today down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ and in particularly sunny Manilva! Over the next few days its going hotter and the weekend looks a ‘cracker’! See today’s chart below, we are just in the ‘Red’

Yesterday afternoon the workmen finished late after laying the floor so its dead today, as the concrete sets, when they finished pumping they then load a steel cannonball through the pipes to clean it out, we were up on the roof terrace by then so they shouted a warning to get out of the way as it shoots out at high speed! Now for the next floor/floors?! Then the roof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Over the last two weeks there has been no sightings in the village of the “Lesser Spotted Throat Warblers” i.e. ‘The Politicians’ I asked one of the more vocal ones for a comment and update on what is happening via Facebook – no reply has been forthcoming up to now! Anyway on various Facebook pages of certain parties/ councilors yesterday evening there was hints that a coalition is coming together, as yet un-confirmed, between the ‘PSOE’ & ‘IU’ ( 9 seats in total) – meaning that the ‘Compromiso’ ( 5 seats only) have lost power after many years! Watch this space as I think they have time up to the 13^th June to finalize the pact!

We are driving down the coast road by the Mediterranean to Sotogrande Marina to go to the ‘KE’ Bar for an al fresco ‘Tapas’ lunch. It’s always good and the prices are very reasonable even though it’s the most spectacular and private marina on the coast. See the pictures later above.

Brenda is in her new White outfit & I'm in my old outfit! Russian Salad & Bacerones to start;Prawn Mornay & Liver for Brenda, Diced Chicken in a Cream Peppercorn sauce & small marinated Pork Brochettes for me!

Meanwhile in London yesterday they announced at a grand ceremony the “Top 50 Restaurants” in the World; the winner’s this year was “ El Cellar De Can Roca” in Girona run by the three brothers Joan,Josep & Jordi Roca- their parents still have a small bar/restaurant in the town that they still run! One brother is the ‘Head Chef’ one is the best ‘Patisserie Chef’ in the World and the other brother is the ‘Sommelier’ in the restaurant!

When we get back from lunch we will go up on the roof terrace a little earlier then usual as there are no workmen today, for an extended ‘Happy Hour’- then this evening we will have a light supper after finding something in the fridge.

I’ve posted above some more pictures from “The Old Blind School” in Liverpool showing the inside of the building taken yesterday; we received an invite to Paul &Wendy’s joint 50^th birthday celebration/party taking place at the ‘Old Sessions House’ in Knutsford in July which sadly we can’t make – its going to be a ‘Helluva’ party if we know the ‘Newman’s’ featuring especially Wendy’s favorite ‘Champagne’!! All the very best to Paul & David for the official opening/launch this Friday.
