A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 4th/ JUNE 2015.

I was up early to welcome back ‘Reina’for the day just as the workmen returned to the site and commenced to make more noise than normal as they knocked down the wood & steel shuttering from around the concrete; over the next few days they will be starting to erect the next floor.Its shooting up as you can see in the pictures below;

The sun is out and the sky is blue with a little pleasant breeze, it’s going to be another hot one today and over the weekend it’s more of the same, the weather is settling down for the time of year before the really hot stuff hits us in July & August.

We are having a nice calm day at home today just pottering about doing nothing, because we can! No doubt Brenda will find one of her ‘ings’ to do as she doesn’t like taking it easy, she has to be occupied with something!

I’ve read all the newspapers online, the Daily Mail ( sorry Josie) the Daily Mirror, the Daily Post ( North Wales) & ‘El Pais’ the main Spanish newspaper, in English, then the main BBC news, ITV news and the ‘Aljazeera’ news and checked the WWW via Facebook when I send birthday greetings to family and friends both English & Spanish, as well as our E-Mails – we still send birthday cards to as many family and friends as possible because we are old fashioned and like sending them and receiving them!

Meanwhile as we are having our breakfast we check out the three main breakfast/ news programmes on ‘TVE 1 Antenna 3 & Cinco 5’ as well as the local regional station ‘Canal Sur’ from Sevilla; the news on ‘Aljazeera’ TV comes from London and of course Doha, in Qatar, and is very comprehensive. I’m then ready to take on the World and anything that comes along as the day goes on!

Then when I go back up to the office to type and post the Blog on the large PC I listen to some local radio station music online through the speakers (loud) i.e. ‘Castle Radio FM 89.2’

We went for a walk at lunchtime with ' Reina; & Chispa' - I stopped at the Cash Machine and on the way back we bumped into Sally Ann outside Bar Castillo so we had a good chat and gossip and then a cool drink at Bar Rojas taking in the sighs and sounds of sunny Manilva.We also bumped into Mario, who is still our local councilor, so I asked him if he could arrange for the water truck to come and wash down our streets - watch this space on Friday?!

For tonight s supper we are having a ‘Salteado’ with an English touch; its basically a ‘fry up’ of leftover Vegetables & Potatoes, Chorizo etc then topped with ‘Campo’ Fried Eggs that are cracked into it to cook’! The English touch is that I’m griddling some English Pork Sausages to have with it!

This afternoon we will be back on the roof terrace again as the sun moves around for our ‘Happy Hour’ cocktails as we catch up with our reading and listen to some more local radio stations on the FM band; then after supper we watch the news update, sports round up and the weather forecast for the next few day before finding a film to watch.

Thoughts for the Day ;See above.
