A LITTLE OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 9th/ JUNE 2015.

I was up early again this morning to welcome back little princess ‘Reina’ for the day; after breakfast which this morning we had local fresh ‘Nectarines’ along with our tea & toast, for the first time this year, they were juicy & delightful.

After breakfast I went along to the local bank ‘Unicaja’ in Calle Mar to pay the Electricity bill, we don’t pay by standing order as we prefer to check the bills first against our readings & calculations (Brenda)! We do the same with the Water bills, anyway, the local bank has started two month’s ago to charge 3 euros per transaction which as it turned out is totally illegal, there have been articles in the local and national press!

So this morning the Manager happened to be serving me so I queered the charge, which you receive no receipt for, he pleaded it’s not me, it’s the Bank! I asked for a ‘Complaint’ form which legally every business in Spain has to have on the premises and at first he said you have to go online for one, I stood my ground and he reluctantly produced a form from his office!! Watch this space.

I then carried on down to our butchers and bought some of his excellent marinated diced Pork to make my special ‘Brochettes of Pork’ made with Onions, Shallots, Mushrooms, Red & Green Peppers and Chorizo. I also picked up some boned Chicken Legs & Thighs to go with the Breasts that we have already, for a curry later in the week!
                                                         See below for tonight's supper!

Its still a little overcast at the moment with the threat of a little of the wet stuff in the air, the rest of the week is fine and the temperatures (29degs) are staying at around the same before picking up again on Friday ‘Chispa’ came crashing in as I came back and is now playing around my feet, we will go for a walk with both of the dogs a little later.

So its an at home day today basically doing nothing, because we can! I’ve told Brenda but at the moment she is mopping all the floors as she says she is bored – you can’t win!! The workmen have only just arrived on the site at noon and have started to make as much noise as possible; I’ve put in an informal complaint via the family solicitor yesterday evening about Saturday mornings total disruption – Watch this space – Am I becoming ‘Victor Meldrew’ in my old age – “ I don’t believe it !”

We have been promised that the handyman is coming this week to fix all the little things that are wrong, including the shutters in our bedroom and at the same time fit in the new back kitchen the Gas Water Boiler, 4x Ring Gas Hob & Extractor Hood. This morning I asked our neighbor opposite, Juan the ‘Tiler’ to measure up/cost, also in the back kitchen, a new Marble top for our small larder/vegetable store! Watch this space.

Just as it was time for our 'Happy Hour' we spotted a couple with a very nice Greyhound checking out Bodega Andaluz,we started to talk to them and they ended up joining us for a glass of Red Wine; Phil & Tina Dungey now live down on the coast opposite 'Restaurante San Rapheal' We are going to meet up with them again when they are next in the village - it was very nice talking to you and we look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future! Cheers!!

PS; Hope you found your keys?!

Last night after supper we watched a good film “ High Crimes” from 2002 – a thriller with Ashley Judd , Morgan Freeman, James Caviezel and Bruce Davison – watch out for the twist right at the end.
