A OVERCAST BUT SUNNY MANILVA, LATER ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 6th/ JUNE 2015.

We were rudely awoken this morning by the workmen on the site taking the steel shuttering down (Saturday?) The noise was terrible, as the pillars are all next to our house, so the sound of the knocking vibrated through the building! You could not hear yourself think, in fact I tried to ring our solicitor to complain and tell her to put a formal complaint( Deuncia) in on our behalf, as well as some of our neighbors, who were also out moaning at the same time!

She did not answer, if she had she would not have been able to hear me through the din anyway! Also, as it happens, the company and the architect that is building the apartments is a cousin of her husband!! Watch this space.

Yesterday evening it was finally confirmed in the local ‘Resident’ newspaper online that the ‘PSOE’(5 seats) & IU’( 4 seats) parties have signed an agreement to govern Manilva in a coalition for the next four years; this means that Diego Jose Jimenez the ‘PSOE’ leader will be sworn in as Mayor next Saturday 13th June. There has been no official release, as of yet, as to which councillors will be heading which department!!  As to the ‘Compromiso’ ( 5 ) councillors Mario, our neighbor, response was ‘That’s Democracy!’ Watch this space.

At the moment its a little overcast but no doubt the sun will break thought a little later, as forecast, the weekend is looking good and next week it’s going to be warm and sunny down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol

At lunchtime ‘Scruffy’ is due back with us just for the day, he’s also here first thing on Monday morning as Rose’s appointment at the hospital over in Malaga was canceled on Friday & also some time later in the week tbc. ‘Reina’ is with us on Tuesday & Thursday as normal and then also on Sunday as Lee & Daniela are going to a friends wedding.

On the sports front this weekend it’s the Final of the ‘Champions League’ at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin as the Italian champions Juventus play the Spanish champions Barcelona,  its live, of course, on TVE 1. Over  in Montreal it’s the ‘Canadian Grand Prix’ qualifying today and in Paris the Open Tennis is taking place, finally at Epson it’s the ‘Derby’ with Frankie Detorri on the favorite.

The Greatest jockey has just won the Greatest flat race on the favorite " Golden Horn" - at the age of 44 - the comeback 'Kid'   "FRANKIE DETORRI" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This evening for supper we are having ‘Entrecote Steak’ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘Pink’ with sautéed Baby Mushrooms & Shallots, whole fine Green Beans and some more twice-cooked ‘Frits’ Brenda’s with fried Garlic buds and mine topped with a fried Campo Egg!

No ‘ Ensladilla Rusa’ this weekend so I’m going to make a ‘Broad Bean Frittata’ as the fresh Beans and all the  Market garden vegetables from the new Mayor’s, Diego shop in Calle Mar are just at their best at the moment. On Sunday we are having an easy day so we are going to have a Chicken from the ‘Rotisserie’ shop in Calle Mar with a Mixed Salad.

After the football this evening when I will be hopefully celebrating as Barcelona win their third title this year we will then settle down after all the excitement and find a film to watch.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
