A HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 1st/ JUNE 2015.

Up as normal this morning after another hot night ‘Reina’ slept on the bed and then down on the floor, she’s being picked up later today ‘Scruffy’ is due back with us at lunchtime for the day and is also being collected later.

The sun was out first thing and the sky is blue, its going to another hot one today here in sunny Manilva; the week ahead is also looking fine with more of the same and getting warmer.

Our weekly menu planning meeting was short and sweet this morning as yesterday evening Brenda was a little off colour and had a tummy bug so we had something light, this evening we are having the ‘Medallions of Pork Fillet’ that we were going to have last night and then tomorrow we are having ‘Pork Schnitzels’ which we were going to have tonight! The rest of the week is TBC. See below for this evening's supper!

So on Wednesday lunchtime we are going out for a ‘Tapas’ lunch a the ‘KE’ Bar in Sotogrande, then the shopping this week is on Saturday Morning; on Sunday in the village it’s the “Festival Corpus Christi”- one of the may religious festivals at this time of the year – this is the one when there are lots of flower decorations/displays in the streets that are covered with flower petals.

The workmen are back with a vengeance this morning and are carrying on laying the concrete beams; there has just been a large delivery of lots of pallets at the top of our street, with all sorts of stuff on them to carry on with the ground floor construction. Today's work below.

Speaking of workmen we are expecting, some time this week, to see our handyman to fit our new back kitchen and sort out some other small jobs around the house at the same time! Watch this space.

Meanwhile at the bottom of our street the work on the new 'Casa de Torres' Museum & Convention Centre is starting to take shape, the scaffolding is down and they are painting the the building, the new roof is on and they are now working on the inside court yard as you can see in the pictures above.

We have just come back from a short walk with ‘Reina’ & ‘Chispa’ after calling into the chemists for our prescriptions, we need to make an appointment at the surgery, for both of us, to renew our six monthly prescriptions and have our check ups!

The roof terrace is calling later this afternoon as the sun moves around so we will be up for our regular ‘Happy Hour’ which we look forward too; then after our supper we will catch up with al the news, sport & weather forecasts for the week ahead.

Last night we found a good film to watch “ The Debt” from 2010 with Helen Mirren, Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain, Ciaran Hinds, Tom Wilkinson about a ‘Mossad’
mission to capture alive a Nazi war criminal known as the ‘Surgeon of Birkenau’ Very gripping right up to the end!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
