SUNNY AND WARM MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 6th/ NOVEMBER 2013.

This morning the breeze has dropped and we have clear blue skies and of course the sun is out in sunny Manilva! It’s a pottering about day at home, later we will go for a walk with the dog around the village and checkout the on-going work on the two latest projects; this morning I phoned the hospital and made an appointment for next Wednesday with my Prostrate consultant to get the results of my tests- its my six month review. This means that next week is starting to take shape as on Monday we are going across to Estepona in the morning for the ‘ITV – MOT’ test on the car!

We have just come back from our walk,its now very hot as there is no breeze; the work on the old Town Hall was attracting a lot of attention,the Asst.Chief of Police,Policemen,Civil Protection officers,'Bomberos 'Fireman' and the demolition workers! It turns out that they were simulating a rescue for training purposes in front of some school children and the council ! See the pictures above.

We then cut through the center of the village down Calle Vale and discovered another older passage way, they have nearly broken through in Calle Iglaise,just past the work we then found/discovered " The Birdman of Manilva ' who breeds all the caged birds for the village.

Earlier this morning the police and local Enviroment Dept, rescued/captured the 'Griffon Vulture' in the picture above on a local building,they have contacted 'CREA' - Center for Endangered Species to come and take charge and ensure that its OK!

We are still reading our ‘Michael Connelly’ books, Brenda is ahead of me with hers but as we have been out and about I have some catching up to do, they are a good read and we are now into them! Our ‘Happy Hour’ still takes place; we get up on the roof terrace when we can or in the ‘Chill-Out Room’ if it’s blowing a bit!We have just spent two hours up on the roof terrace in the warm sunshine before it dipped below the mountains behind Gibraltar in Africa!

Brenda likes her tennis so she is following the ‘ATP World Tour Finals’ over in London at the ‘O2 Arena’ on the TDP sports channel, last night she watched Djokovic beat Federer and earlier Nadel beat Ferrer;this evening its David Ferrer v Tomas Berdych; tonight it’s the UEFA Champions League’ again- Barcelona v Milan which I will follow on the large PC in the office as its only on the ‘Pay to View Channel’ here!Barcelona 3 Milan 1 with Messi scoring two!

Tonight for supper we are having Baked English Cut Pork Chops with glazed Apple slices, Cabbage with Alselgas and batons of Carrots, I’ am just about to get ready some Breton style Potatoes with mixed Peppers and Onions.

PS' " GREAT NEWS " We have just had a Skype video call from Tim over in Old Colwyn,he's coming out for a week on Monday 18th November/and is staying with us,we can't wait to see him and catch up with all his news;fingers crossed that the good weather is still with us as he is going to be playing golf in his shorts and teashirt! He is flying into Gibraltar and we will pick him from the airport!! Watch this space.

Thought for the Day; See above.
