MANILVA AT THE START OF SEMANA SANTA WEEK

MONDAY 25th/ MARCH 2013.

Monday started grey and overcast but the sun broke through and it was warm, 20degs and the forecast for the week is still the same, a little rain and then OK for the rest of the Semana Santa week; we don’t know if we will see any body on Sunday, yet but we are planning to have a Leg Of Lamb for our Easter Sunday roast. The dog, as usual came crashing in, charging about and chasing her tennis ball before we went for a short walk later in the morning.

In the afternoon I did a little bit of reading, I’am back into a good ‘Patterson’ and Brenda is just about to start one at the same time; over the last few weeks we have been watching, at different times on one of the commercial channels “ Call the Midwife ” – we found it one day when I was channel hopping and are now getting up to date with it; it is shown as back-to-back two hour episodes so we are nearly up to date with story, in the last episode Miranda Hart delivered triplets and got married! The cast of Jenny Augutter.Jessica Raine in the main part, Pam Ferris, Judy Parfitt and Helen George are excellent and the voice of Vennesa Redgrave as the narrator brings the story to life. Easy watching, the BBC at it s best.

After supper we settled down to watch on TVE1 the Monday classic, this week is was “ Gladiator ” from 2000 with Russell Crowe, Joaquim Phoenix, Connie Nelson? Oliver Reed and Derek Jacobi – still a great film that you can’t stop watching over and over again!

PS; We have just come back from our Tuesday morning walk so the pictures above show the ongoing work on the ‘Plaza Pozo Del Rey’ and the new flower displays outside the two Town Halls.

Thought for the Day;

The future depends on what we do in the present.
