A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON ' PALM SUNDAY'

SUNDAY 17th/ APRIL 2019.    “ PALM SUNDAY “

We had another nice lie in this morning, little ‘ Winnie’ spent the night on our bed, she’s a bundle of fun & energy, she never stops, she is a joy to have with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – she was collected first thing this morning.

After freshening up, as I was on the breakfast rota, we had, for the first time in ages, ‘ Cripsy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – open on brown for Brenda – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce, with mugs of strong ‘ PG Tips’ Tea, to set us up for the day ahead!

The sun was out early and the sky is cloudless and bright blue, there is a very slight breeze, making it a perfect start to the week of ‘ Semana Santa’ religious celebration & processions, leading up to Easter Sunday. By it’s the time for the lunchtime procession of the ‘ La Borriquita – the Donkey’ tableau it will be hovering on the 23/24 degs mark! The start of next week is looking even warmer, 25 degs+ but its then going a little cooler, down to 19 degs by Wednesday, sadly on Thursday, when my Brotherhoods procession takes place, ‘ Jesus Nazareno ‘ - the forecast is showing the ‘wet-stuff’ returning and sadly staying wet & windy over the ‘Easter’ weekend, hovering in the high ‘ teens’ with patchy clouds, watch this space.

See below the beach down in Sabinillas, this morning, ready & waiting for the Easter ‘Hordes’!

                                                                                                     " PALM SUNDAY "

Just a very quick update on the sport results; Everton lost to relegated Fulham 2-0 and a under-strength Barcelona had a goal-less draw at Huesca, Lewis Hamilton has just won the ‘ Chinese Grand Prix ‘ – the historic 1,000th race!

At the ‘ Masters’ golf in Georgia, Francesco Molinari takes a two-shot lead over Tiger Woods into the final round.

At lunchtime we will be going up to ‘ Calle Mar’ to watch the first procession, see all the pictures later.

We sat outside' Cafe Plaza' with a nice cool drink taking in the sights & sounds of a very hot & sunny Manilva, as the procession passed, see the pictures above.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Medallions of Pork Fillet ‘ – pan-seared in foaming butter, garnished with Button Mushrooms, accompanied with a creamy ‘ Green Peppercorn’ salsa, a small selection of fresh, local Vegetables and for a change ‘twice-cooked’ Frits’ – on Monday evening it’s going to be ‘ Escalope’s of Pork’ – using the rest of the Fillet of Pork, made into ‘ Schnitzels’ and served ‘ Holstein’ style with Spaghetti Milanese!

I have just managed to re-set the ‘ IPTV’ system so we are back to watching all the sport and programmes that we follow, this evening after supper we will be catching the next episode of the very exciting & gripping ‘ Line of Duty’

While I have been typing/posting today’s Blog, as usual, I have been listening to ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – just before we go out we will catch the ‘Pete Black Retro Roadshow’ - broadcasting live from his own studio in the ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ -to listen to the ‘ Movie Quiz’ - so ‘ Lady’ Brenda can win the Mug, she is already in this month’s draw!

NB; She got the correct answer, it was " Back to the Future " with Michael J. Fox & Christopher Lloyd !!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
