A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE ' SEMANA SANTA ' WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 12th/ APRIL 2019.

I was up early again this morning, for the last time this week, after a quick freshen up I shot off down to Sabinillas, on my travels, for the weekly shopping, I had my usual toast & tea in ‘ ItZabar’ before ‘ Mercadona ‘ opened, I then went along to the far end of the promenade to the local market for our fresh flowers & wall plants, on the way back I called into ‘ Super Sol’ for our English’ essentials, before coming back up the hill through the ever growing vine fields.

Next week ‘ Mercadona’ is closed on Friday ( local Bank Holiday ) so I will be out on Thursday morning on my travels, as I’m only at the ‘Estepona Hospital’ for the first three days of next week, as it’s also (local Bank Holidays) in Estepona for the ‘ Semana Santa ‘ celebrations week, on Thursday & Friday. Brenda has an appointment at her Hairdresser, Annie, down in Sabinillas, on Thursday for a cut & style.

See below some pictures of the ‘Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ this morning.

After unloading back at the house we set off back down to Sabinillas as Brenda had her appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, at the main ‘ Medical Centre’ - for her six month re-view/check up, after her blood tests etc last week, all’s well, with just a little update on the prescription tablets, I at the same time made an appointment for my monthly ‘V12’ injection ,next Tuesday afternoon, with the ‘Practise Nurse’

On the way back up the hill we stopped at the new ‘ Venta La Vista’ for a nice cool drink, sat in the shade on the terrace, overlooking the vine fields, the mountains and valley down to the Mediterranean.

As I set off the sun was all ready up above a very calm Mediterranean, the sky was blue & cloudless and there was just a very slight breeze, another beautiful day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’- by lunchtime it’s due to reach 22 degs+ - over the weekend raising to 24/25 degs+! - meaning that it’s going to be very hot & sunny on ‘Palm Sunday’ – for the start of the ‘ Semana Santa’ week of religious celebrations & processions, next week is starting the same, then by mid-week as the breeze gets up it’s going a little cooler, hovering in the low 20s,with still the threat of the ‘ wet-stuff’ in the air, by next weekend, on ‘Easter Sunday’ it will be back up to 23 degs+ - just in time for the final two parades!! Watch this space.

See the weather forecast below;

The following week we are starting to get rather excited as we are meeting David & Jane, over in Malaga, on the Tuesday morning, at their Hotel , the “ Atanazanas Boutique Hotel’ – opposite the world famous market of the same name! They are flying in on the Monday for a short three-day break, on the Monday lunchtime I have an appointment with the ‘ Consultant Physiotherapist’ at the ‘ Estepona Hospital’ for a re-view/check up on my left hand, watch this space.

We have a nice surprise guest  back with us in ‘ Doggy World  Heaven ‘ tomorrow morning, little ‘ Winnie’ the black pug is joining us for the day! ‘ Chispa’ will no doubt be calling in to see her & us, as she does all the time.

For our supper this evening we are having our version of posh ‘ Fish n’ Chips’ – with Mushy Peas, ‘ Goujon s of Hake Fillet’ – dipped in a ‘ Cruzcampo Beer Batter’ – shallow fried in Vegetable Oil, until crisp & golden, served with lots of Lemon Wedges and Homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce, not forgetting the twice-cooked ‘ Chips’!

Saturday it’s ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks’ with all the trimmings and then on Sunday we are having ‘ Medallions of Pork Fillet’ with a creamy ‘ Green Peppercorn ‘ salsa. Watch this space.

Yesterday evening after supper we settled down to watch the final 4th episode of ‘ The Victim ‘ on BBC TV, I will not give the ending away, only to say that it was very gripping & compelling, with excellent actors in the main roles.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
