A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 11th/ JULY 2015.

A nice lie in was called for this morning after last nights 'Happenings'! We went across to San Pedro for our Tapas supper at the 'Calderon Bar' by the 'Boulevard,it was a balmy evening as we sat and enjoyed the view as it went dark and the lights came on; the folks & Brenda had a little selection of Tapas and I had my favourite 'Steak & Chips - Spanish style' See the pictures below of the 'Boulevard'taken by Den.

A beautiful ' Cadiz - Entrecote Steak' cooked on the charcoal grill 'Med-Rare' was cooked to perfection with sweet fat,it tasted to die for! A few Patatas Fritas & Dijon Grain Mustard - heaven on a plate!See below.

We then drove back to Estepona to the 'Orchid House' which was lit up by then,the lighting changes colour on the three domes and all the surrounding area is spectacular as you can see in the pictures below, again taken by Den.
.

We ended our ' Three-Day-Mini-Break' back at Bar Rojas sat under the 'Sonbrajo' taking in the balmy late evening air with a cool drink; our friends Brian & Jan ( Charlie the dog) came along with their friend Steph and joined us and then some of their friends also joined in the party - the 'Irish' contingent stared singing!!

So this morning I was treated to 'Campo Poached Eggs' on toast for breakfast before I start my 'Chef' duties back in the kitchen, see below.

As it happens our handy man 'Joaquin' has just arrived to finish the work on the extraction hood and also fit the new ceiling light! Now all we need is Juan the tiler to fit the new Marble top to the vegetable store shelf! Joaquin is also making a quick fix on the bedroom shutter until the new one arrives.

We are taking things easy to day, the hire car is being picked up later, we will miss the luxury of having the air conditioning, power steering & the radio - back to the old Red Limousine! Next week Den & Josie are going up to Cordoba, they have booked the hotel and Josie has arranged their transport on the " Bla Bla Car" web page; they enjoy the excitement of meeting new people and of course its a cheap way of traveling!

On the sports front this weekend its the finals of the Tennis at Wimbledon and the first 'Ashes Test Match' down in Cardiff; over at the 'Sachsenring' its the German Motor GP; meanwhile over in France its Stage 8 of the " Tour de France" from Rennes to Mur de Bretagne over 181 kms - yesterday Mark Cavendish won the sprint finish in spectacular style - his 26th tour stage win! Chris Froome is back in the race leaders 'Yellow Jersey' after the German rider Tony Martin crashed out.

This evening for our supper we are having 'Minute Steak' cooked on the hot griddle plate 'Med-Rare' with finely sliced Green Beans, a small Baked Potato and a Mixed salad on the side.We will then catch up with all the news, sport and weather updates before finding a film to watch - back into the old routine!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
