“FELIZ DIA DE ANDALUCIA”
Today is ‘
Andalucia Day ’ which marks the anniversary of the referendum held on the 28TH/
February 1980 – making the region an autonomous community of Spain; this year
due to the threat of rain and cold weather the Council have arranged the day’s
celebrations to take place down in the Congress Centre – as it turned out we
had the rain and storms during the night and today it is our normal clear blue
skies and the sun is out,it is still cold and on the mountains they are all
topped for the first time with snow! I can’t show them as my camera does not
have a big enough zoom!! The pictures above show the start of the proceedings
with the singing of the Andalucia Anthem and the rising of the flag by the
Mayor; later there is singing and dancing and the Manilva Brass Band are giving a concert.
