MANILVA THIS WEEK.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY/FRIDAY 15th/16th/17th FEBRUARY 2012.

The forecast for the rest of the week and over the weekend is sun and cloudy and a little windy, so it’s going to be a bit cooler; in the morning on Wednesday Brenda went around to the surgery to see the nurse to get her bi-opsy stitches out, everything was fine so its now down to next Tuesday’s appointment with the consultant for the results. Meanwhile back at the stove I had the Chicken Curry on the go; Brenda got the washing out on the terrace as it is excellent drying weather and I caught up with WWW. After dinner we settled down to watch the news and then a film; ‘ JFK ’1991 was written and directed by Oliver Stone and starred Kevin Costner as a New Orleans DA who fanatically digs into the assassination/conspiracy story and Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman and Jack Lemmon all help the story unfold – another one to watch.

We were up very early on Thursday morning as Brenda had a appointment at the hospital in Marbella but at the same time we wanted to find out how Jack’s operation over in Melbourne had gone, Australia is ten hours ahead at the moment, Lyn’s daughter Deb,who always refer’s to us Aunty and Uncle, had posted a message on Facebook; Jack was in intensive care and the Doctors were very happy with him and the operation had gone well, later they took the breathing tube out and he was able to smile at Lyn, take it easy and get well soon Jack !
Andy and Maria picked us up and took us to the hospital, it was a lovely drive over as the sun was out and with the clear blue skies it was soon hot. The consultant gave Brenda the good news, no thrombosis’s in the veins on her legs so no need for an operation, the tablets have got things under control and she has had no more swollen ankles and pain for a long while now so she just has to keep taking the tablets ! One down and one to go. Andy and Maria as they were waiting had a look at the new Blackberry for me as the reason Mano had not got back to us was that he had been called back into work at short notice; they have now sorted it out and got me on the way with it, there is no change of number so onwards and upwards ! When we got back to the house Anna called in and showed me more things on it so it is now down to me.

In the evening for dinner it was ‘ Classic ’time again as I had breaded Chicken Breast’s ready for supper, Brenda requested ‘ Chicken Maryland ’so I made some Sweet corn Fritters and breaded a Banana, the breadcrumbs come from the Pastry and Bread shop and are freshly made each day and keep for ages in the sealed bag; I fancied ‘ Chicken Schnitzel/Holstein ’ and fried the egg in the pan after cooking the Chicken and Banana in foaming Lemon Butter. Lots of Lemon wedges helped the meal along, we really enjoyed the Chicken, it was a pleasant change and will appear on the menu again in the not to distant future !

This morning we have just come back from the shopping down in Sabinillas,it is cold and grey today and we needed to wrap up well; we are having a at home day and taking things easy, tonight for supper we are having Pan Fried Fillet of Halibut in a Lime Butter sauce with Baby New Potatoes and yet another old ‘ Classic ’ from the past ‘ Petits Pois a la Francaise ’ The mouth is watering all ready !

Thought for the Day;

Insanity; Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
