MANILVA THIS WEEK.

WEDNESDAY 1st/ FEBRUARY 2012.

We were up early and after our tea and toast we shot across to Estepona; the forecast is sun every day but it is getting colder from the cold front from Russia, Brian has been down to minus 24degs over in Finland !The weekend is more of the same but it is going to go warmer. I went to my regular Barbers and had the full works; he cuts and trims my hair and Goatee and took two inches off the back – he then shampoos and conditions your hair over an old antique washing basin which he warms first so as when your head goes back in the antique barber’s chair you don’t feel anything! More trimming and grooming before he gives you a face and scalp message with a special rejuvenating cream follows! Meanwhile Brenda went off to pick up her toiletries to keep her looking fresh and young looking !!

We then went to the Hypermarket ‘ Carrefour ’ to sign on with our card to the new over 65 club discount scheme, it worked straight away as we got the discount on some Mushrooms that we needed ! We looked at the cameras at the on-site photo store and found the good offer to get the new camera; it is now fully charged, all the settings selected and the disc has been installed on the PC, so watch out for the first test picture! We also needed some long lasting tea/candle lights that we can only get from a particular shop in San Pedro before we came back over to Sabinillas for Brenda’s appointment at her Hairdressers, we had a quick coffee in the cafĂ© opposite in the square and Brenda went off to get her cut and blow; I had a sausage buttie to keep me going and sat outside in the warm sunshine and read the ‘Sunday Times ’ colour supplement which I really enjoyed as we don’t often get a chance to get our hands on a copy.

In the evening for dinner we had flattened Turkey Breast pan fried in foaming Lime Butter with Basmati Rice and a creamy Mushroom sauce along with sliced Green Beans; I followed the Premier League Football over in England on the new BBC Sports page which was opened for the first time today, it comes from the new BBC complex in Salford Quays and is a great improvement on the old one, it even has a live news feed on the page.

As you can see below I managed to get the pictures off the old camera of our walk around Puerto de la Duquesa last Sunday on a gorgeous sunny day which shows the Marina at its best. The Plaza Maritime front along to Castillo de la Duquesa is very pleasant and the beachfront complex is rather special.

Thought for the Day;

Entrepreneurial determination is born out of disrespect for authority and resistance to conform.
