MANILVA TODAY.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY 4TH/5TH/ MAY 2011

The sun was out in the morning so after a light breakfast I dropped the Moffatt’s down on the beach; meanwhile back in the house Brenda had a little clean around and put her feet up as I updated the blog. Harry and Diane came over to Manilva in the evening and joined us for dinner; we went to “ La Choza ”which is on the coast road just out of Sabinillas, we first went there over eleven years ago when Mano took us to it on our first visit to Manilva. It’s sister restaurante was our local over on the far side of Estepona when we had the Winnebago parked; the menu has never changed in all the years but it is still very good and they made us most welcome, Tim and Harry had the Shoulder of Lamb, they were the most magnificent shoulders you will ever see and were succulent and juicy as you can see in the picture below, Brenda had one of her old favourites,Duck a’ Orange, it is severed in the old style, half a Duck cooked crisp with the excellent Orange sauce on the side, I had the Beef Stroganoff with Rice which is always consistently the same.Thea and Diane had John Dory in Almond sauce and a Sole a la Plancha which were both good and a fine Rioja helped things along as we finished on Carajillo’s.Thea caught up with all the family news as we had an excellent evening in fine company, “ La Choza ”looked after us in fine style and we had a most enjoyable last evening with Tim and Thea and the folks.

This morning we were up early and shot across to the airport in Malaga and put the Royal couple on the plane at the end of the state visit ! Tim and Thea a very special thanks to both of you, we had a “ Helluva ”time and your friendship and warmth is very much appreciated  and you are sadly missed already ! We look forward to your next visit later in the year !!

PS; They will have to come back - they left their tooth brushes behind !!!

Thought for the Day;

Life isn't about how you survived the storm.... it's about how you danced in the rain.
