MANILVA THIS WEEKEND.

FRIDAY/SATURDAY 6th/7th MAY 2011.

On Thursday morning after dropping Tim and Thea off at the airport in Malaga we stopped and did the weekend shopping; when we got back to the house Brenda hit the washing machine with a vengeance! The sun is out so it is excellent drying weather, the forecast for the weekend is lots of sun and the temperature is going up to 27/28degs.( Sorry Tim ! )

In the morning on Friday we walked around to local market down by the sports ground to pick up some flowers and also there was some local Asparagus on the vegetable stall; Brenda then called into the surgery as she had an appointment to see our doctor, we think she has broken her toe, she stubbed it in the foot of the bed at the start of the week, so she is going for an x-ray on Monday morning over in Estepona just to check that there are no complications. At the same time after checking Brenda’s leg and ankle which have been swelling again he put her on more ointment and circulation tablets as well as “ Norah Batty ”type surgical stockings – real passion killers ! We also have an appointment to see a consultant over in the Costa Del Sol hospital in Marbella in two weeks time to get things checked out. The Moffatts arrived home safely and are back into the swing of things over in Old Colwyn; The King is dead, long live the Queen – Jane and David arrives at Gibraltar on Thursday morning! Mano and Anna called in to catch up with all the news, we had called into to see them on Wednesday evening on the way back from the beach, Tim and Thea had not seen their house. In the evening after a busy day washing and cleaning, I was on the WWW.we then went up to Bar Rojas for supper,Lumy looked after us very well, Brenda had the John Dory in a light batter with a salad and I had Breast of Chicken a la Plancha with Huevos Fritos and Patatas Fritas !!

This morning after a little lie in we had Poached Eggs on Toast for breakfast, Brenda is now doing the ironing up on the roof terrace and I am watching the Grand Prix from Turkey; I’ve just spoken to Jane over in Chester to confirm the details, they arrive on the 10-30am flight on Thursday and go back on the 2-30pm on Sunday; they have arranged a hire car from La Inea on the border, it’s just a few hundred yards across and we are only 30mins away ! The village has been plastered with election posters during the week and all the local parties are busy chasing our vote; it is all controlled and monitored up to the election on Sunday 22nd May; our voting card came in the post during the week and we only have to walk down to the large conference centre by the sports pavilion to vote. While we were out on Friday we bumped into Nancy, the daughter in law of the Spanish side of Mano and Anna’s family, her daughter, Laura is getting confirmed on Sunday along with other local boys and girls in Santa Ana church and she has invited us to her party in the afternoon. Tonight we are having Flattened Minute Steak with Sauté Onions, Button Mushrooms, Tomatoe and Asparagus for dinner along with Chips!

Thought for the Day;

Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.
