MANILVA TODAY.

MONDAY 4TH APRIL 2011.

Well the Marshall’s are on their way; are you ready Pori ? ! Last night we joined Brian and Lilli up at Bar Rojas for their last drink in Spain, for a while. The classic Abbey Road picture taken by Andy is one to treasure; we intend in the future to take the same picture every time they are back here in Manilva. Last night we had a bit of a session on Beer, Gin and Tonics and Bacardi and Coke but not too many as they had to head off this morning on the drive to the coast of Germany to catch the ferry to Helsinki on Thursday morning. Andy came along after work and Manolo and Lumy sat down with us to wish the Marshall’s a safe journey. The pictures below show us sending them off in true style with flags, messages and a large Confetti Bomb as well as me controlling and stopping the traffic with my whistle ! The local duty policeman looked on with interest. In one of the pictures you can see their two dogs, Duncan and Penny taking it all in; so we wish them all the best and know that their new life and work in Finland will be a success.

PS; This morning the new signs have gone up with details of the parking times, you are allowed one hour with no return and we now have our own traffic warden who puts a note on the windscreen with the date and time ! The Town Hall painting is now finished and the flag poles have been put out but with no flags so we think that the new ones have not arrived – watch this space !

PPS; The Marshall's arrived at their hotel in Girona after a 15 hour drive - safe and sound.

PPPS; Tuesday -  They have just set off in the last hour for Mulhouse in Northern France just below the German border - at least they are heading in the right direction !

Thought for the Day;

Work is a necessary evil to be avoided.
