MANILVA TODAY AND MARSHALL'S UPDATE.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 5TH/6TH APRIL 2011.

On Tuesday morning we had to go down to Sabinillas to the branch of our bank in Estepona so we decided to go on the bus; as we waited at the bus stop for the 10-00 clock bus a car stopped and offered us a lift down, this happens all the time but only to people that you know so it was a surprise that the very nice Spanish gentleman that we did not know and who spoke good English took us down. When we got back I booked the hire car for when Tim and Thea arrive on Friday 29th for a week; I then got on to our bank over in Colwyn Bay via the International Banking System and arranged a transfer which arrived in our Spanish account an hour later – very impressed ! In the early afternoon the insurance surveyors called in to check out some damp patches which have appeared around the house again; we will be surprised if they repaint as it less than a year since it was last done, so fingers crossed! Mano and Anna called in later after he had come home from work to catch up with any news, his routine has changed and he is now back to living a normal life. Meanwhile Cheta is in and out all the time and we go out for walks around the village, the weather is getting hotter all the time and this weekend it will be 26degs and rising! In the evening we had Pork Cutlets for dinner which we picked up from our butchers in the village and at the same time I bought some Braising Steak for Wednesday. We then watched the football on the TV, it was the Real Madrid match from Madrid, they were playing Spurs in the European Cup; Real Madrid played Spurs off the park and won 4 – 0, Spurs were terrible and just did not get into the game !

This morning I made the Braised Steak and Onions with lots of vegetetables, Carrots, Leeks, Celery, Green Beans, Turnips, Peppers and Mushrooms; tonight we are having it for dinner with Cabbage with Acelgas and large local Baked Potatoes. We then spoke to Jack and Lyn over in Melbourne on the Skype video, he has been in hospital again as an infection set in but is now fine and looked very well, in fact they are starting to thing about coming over ! We can’t wait!!

Marshall’s Travel Update;

They arrived in Mulhouse in Northern France next to the German border after a good drive across France but it then took them two hours in the one way system to find the hotel; It turned out to be a dump, ie.Cell Block H but as they were shattered they had no alternative. This morning they have a problem with the car so they are looking for the nearest garage; it is filling up with fumes! Watch this space for a news flash when we hear more.

PS; They are on their way again on the German Autobhans,Brian has just said that German drivers make women drivers look like the Stig ! ?

PPS; They were approaching the ferry terminal over twelve hours ago in the German port that I don't know the name of !
PPS; After extensive research by Brenda in our faithfull AA Map Guide we think that they have departed from Travemunde above Lubeck on the 3-ooam ferry to Helsinki which takes 27 hours and 30 mins! - if they made it on time !!
