A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON " SURPRISE " THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 19^th/ JUNE 2014.

A nice easy wake up this morning with no distractions from the street, after breakfast we settled down to watch on TVE1 the ‘Proclamation’ of the new ‘King Felipe V1’ in Madrid; no coronation just a political ceremony in the ‘Congress’ with just two speeches, last night at midnight King Juan Carlos signed the abdication document and this morning again at the ‘Zarzuela Palace’ he placed the Military Chief Red Sash around his sons waist.

Then back to the Palace after a small parade through the streets of Madrid; the new Queen Letizia an ex TV newsreader and their two daughters, Princess Leonor, the next Queen of Spain and the younger daughter Sofia were the only royals on show and took part in all the ceremonies. See the pictures above taken off the TV!

At lunchtime Tim called on the Skype video for a chat and catch up, one bit of news is that Thea could be getting early retirement next year so they are coming over to Spain in the region around Almeria to check things out with a view to settling there.

Now a change to tonight’s plans as we have not been able to contact Gillian to cancel supper because of not having our mobile phones in use we can’t ring her! So its back to Plan ‘A’ – we are having the supper we planned to have ‘Escalope’s of Chicken Breast’ cooked in foaming Lemon Butter with Savory Basmati Rice, finely sliced Green Beans and a rich creamy Mushroom sauce on the side.

We will then go across later after Josie calls to let is know that she has arrived to pick her up from the bus station over in Marbella, Last night I received a little ode/poem from the ‘Queen of Skelton’ as you can see below;

Tomorrow dinner should’ve been fine

With food and drink no doubt sublime

But a misread email spoils the dinner

Malcolm Sexton was the sinner

He muddled the time of day

Resulting in the fade away

Of a supper that once could be mine

A mirage now in the mists of time

Don’ worry I won’t get any thinner

On Sunday the gang are going out for dinner

 “ NEWS FLASH FROM PORI IN FINLAND ”

We have just come off the Skype video after speaking to Brian, to cut things short he is flying into Spain next week as he has an interview/assessment with two companies in Gibraltar next Thursday!! So we have arranged to pick him up from Marbella bus station at 6-00pm on Wedneday as Brenda’s appointment with ‘Cardiology Consultant’ is at 5-00pm! He will stay with us for the first night and then take things from there, Andy has also offered to put him up; so that’s a very nice surprise, we are really looking forward to seeing him and a good catch up with all his news – lots of Love to Lilli left behind in Pori looking after the dogs and the business!!

So this evening after our supper with Gillian we will watch the start of the England( Must Win!) game before we go to pick Josie up .

England lost 2-1 with Liverpool's Luis Suarez scoring both the goals for Uruguay, so there chance of going into the next round is very slender,they are on the brink of going home early!
