SUNNY MANILVA - JUST

TUESDAY 21st/ MAY 2013.

Another in between day as it is warm but a little overcast as Brenda has just put today’s washing out, the forecast is better by the weekend -  she says that it is not a good drying day; my mobile phone is acting up again, I can’t get it to reboot after it switched it’s self off! The touch screen is not responding?! Mano is going to call in later as he is out with Carlos on the golf course today; it’s both their days off.

We are both reading ‘Patterson’s’ at the moment so we will have to exchange then on Friday down at the English Bookshop in Sabinillas; at the moment I’ am a little indisposed as my back acted up at the weekend and it has now transferred to my leg – the self diagnosis is a trapped nerve so the nurse is applying the ointment and I’ am taking the tablets!

This afternoon I will try and watch the ‘Giro d’Italia’ which is still in the Alps, on Wednesday it is a sprint finish and on Thursday it is a Time Trial - a uphill slog over 20kms, then they are back in the mountains for two days in the ‘Dolomites’ before they finish in Brescia on Sunday for the first time, normally it is in Milan, with a circuit race!

PS; I have just got online with 'Euro Sport HD ' - great coverage as there is no rain or snow in the 'Piedmont' region to the finish in the capital Ivrea ( Home of Olivetti typewriters ! ) - at the moment! Today is Mark Cavendish's 28th birthday but watch out for tomorrow or on Sunday for his last chance for a stage win! The decent from the 'Andrate' climb in the last 10kms is very spectacular,fast and dangerous and the pictures are terrific!One 'Helluva' exciting and fast stage finish !! The young highly rated Spanish rider,wait for it, 'Benat Intxausti Ecorriaga' won the stage after nearly six hours in the saddle !!

Tonight for supper we are having Minute Steak, topped with a fried Egg, with sautéed Mushrooms and Onions, finely sliced Green Beans and ‘Twice cooked’ Chips! We will then watch the Spanish Master Chef on TVE1 which tonight features them doing something with a whole ‘Pavo’ – Turkey !

PS; It was actually a large ' Pollo' - Chicken, which they had to 'Spatchcock' and stuff with a savory forcemeat, then tie up and roast! The last task was to make a " Beef Wellington "which none of them had seen or heard off before! The results were not good !!

Thought for the Day;

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.
