MANILVA.

Saturday 30th.August.

We got up late after the night before and decided to have a quiet day at home! It is still very hot during the day but in the evening as we move onto the roof terrace as a light breeze comes across the roof’s of the village and we sit and read our book’s and have a cool drink; for supper we had Steak and Frits,we bought the Entrecote from our local butcher in the village and the potatoes come from shop in our street and are fresh out of the ground! On the TV. the football coverage has begun of the Spanish League and also the highlights of the Premier League in England, the live match does not start until 10-00pm our time!

Sunday 31st. August.

As usual on a Sunday we have a late Brunch,we have found out that Anna’s favourite meal is Brunch ( She told us! ) so next Sunday we have asked her to join us and Mano if he is not working as our Sunday Roast’s won’t be back on the menu just yet! Another very hot day so later in the evening we walked around to Bar Castillo at 10-00pm and sat outside to have some Tapas and Vino Blanco.

Monday 1st.September 2008.

We called into the Aparthotel as we had arranged to meet the Head of Manilva TV. to discuss my proposal’s about a TV. progamme when we were introduced to him at the Band contest on Friday but he was unable to make it- manana! One of the local’s who is also part of Ana Mari’s family,Antonio gave us a large bag of Tomatoe’s,Green Pepper’s and Aubergine’s which he had just picked whilst we were there. On the way back to our house we noticed in the main street next to the top of our street a workman starting to build the Wine Vat for the “ Fiesta de la Vendimia ” this weekend; the Wine Festival take’s place over two days and night’s and the canopy’s across the street are to protect the crowd’s from the mid-day sun.The picture below show’s the start of Wine Vat,so I will take a picture each day as it goes up!
