MANILVA START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY/TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 2nd/3rd/4th APRIL 2012.

Monday as forecast was overcast so it was an at home day; Cheta came and played around the house as Brenda was catching up with the washing, drying and ironing as well as mopping and cleaning, in the end she came and sat on my lap in the office as she was not getting enough attention as I was catching up with the WWW. In the evening for supper we had Minute Steak and Chips and then watched a little TV.

On Tuesday morning I dropped Brenda down to the hairdressers in Sabinillas as she had an appointment for the full works; on the way back I picked up some Sliced Loin of Pork for dinner, I also bought some Breadcrumbs from the bakery so we had Flattened Pork Schnitzels for dinner with Tomato sauce and Boulangere Potatoes – yummy ! The football on Spanish TV was the game between Barcelona and AC Milan – Barca played brilliantly and Messi scored two penalties in the 3-1 win so they could play against Chelsea in the semi finals if they win tonight against Benfica ! The late film was “ Enemy at the Gates ” from 2001 telling the story for the battle for Stalingrad in 1942 with a little fact and a lot of fiction ! It stars Jude Law as ‘ Vasily Zaytsev ’ the legendary Russian sniper ( fact ) and with Ed Harris, Joseph Finenes and Bob Hoskins in the supporting roles( Fiction ) !

Today it has picked up a bit and by Sunday and into next week it is going to be hot and sunny; Mano and Anna called in at lunchtime and we had a good chat and gossip. They are trying to get tickets to see the production of “ Les Miserables ” in St.Micheals cave in Gibraltar next month; John our friend from North Wales is singing in the chorus and he reminded us on Sunday that the tickets were going fast, in fact they have sold out for the two days and so they are putting on an extra day – fingers crossed that we get some tickets !! Tonight it is Chicken Curry night,Mano said that they could smell it up the street in Calle Mar so it must be good ! More football this evening with Real Madrid aiming to get into the semi finals against Bayern Munich who powered past Marseille last night.

Thought for the Day;

It is one life, whether we spend it in laughing or in weeping.
