AT THE MOMENT A SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 24th/ APRIL 2020.  “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 41 “

As usual on a Friday morning the sound of the goods delivery men sliding down the pallets to the local shop at the bottom of our street got us up, after freshening up it was time for our breakfast, as I was on the rota I had a ‘ Dockers Butty ‘ – a Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with some of her favourite sliced Button Mushrooms seared in the Bacon juices with a knob of Butter, some of which made it into my Butty – with mugs of hot/strong ‘ PG ‘ Tips Tea – to set us up for the weekend ahead!

Last night as we getting ready to go to bed, late, we had been watching a new episode of ‘ New Tricks ‘ on BBC TV 1 – I noticed that Lyn was online over in Melbourne, Australia, so we called her on the ‘Facebook’ messenger video link-up, it was 1-00 am here and over in Melbourne 9-00 am!
She was up and pottering about so we had a nice catch-up with all her news, she is very well and had a nice day out on Thursday, with Annette and then Debs, out to the beach with the dog and a ‘ Fish N’ Chip’ lunch- then a meeting, before some shopping. We were going to call today as it would have been, her beloved Jacks 92nd birthday.    “ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE “

After breakfast I ‘ Masked/Gloved’ up and shot along to the local Bank in ‘ Calle Mar’ for some cash, when I returned Brenda ( Masked & Gloved ‘ went along to the ‘ Chemists’ for some prescription tablets, giving us both the chance to stretch our legs, she then called into the local shop at the bottom of our street, for today’s fresh vegetables & fruit.

This morning has started a little grey & overcast with lots of clouds, there is a light breeze, with the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ in the air, so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 19 degs+ - overnight down to 14 degs+ - over the weekend it’s staying the same, next week is now not looking much better, with moderate rain showers, patchy clouds, light breezes and sunshine on a couple of days, still hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – by next weekend back up to 21/22 degs+ watch this space.

Over in North Wales last night ‘ Conwy Castle’ was lit up in the rainbow colors, for the regular Thursday night recognition of the ‘NHS’ at 8-00 pm!

“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

From Sunday, children( 3 max)  in Spain aged 14 and under will be able to go out for walks between 9 am and 9pm, within a one-kilometer radius of their homes, in the company of an adult/parent, with strict restrictions!

The ‘ Council ‘ are passing out new ‘Face Masks ‘ on Monday morning up at the Town Hall at the top of our street in ‘Calle Mar’  for all the older residents.

This morning I saw two of our neighbours along in ‘Calle Mar’ – who have volunteered to work for the ‘ Councils Cleaning’ department , brushing the street and tidying up, before the lorries come along to wash, disinfect and humidify the street, as usual.  ‘ Thanks’

For our supper this evening we have changed the menu, so no ‘ Fish N’ Chip’ supper – instead we are using up the last of ‘Mercadona’  prepared ‘Chicken Schnitzels’ – topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg, accompanied with lots of Lemon Wedges and the last of the Baby New Potatoes – finished ‘ Rissolee ‘ style, with some sliced ‘ French ‘ Green Beans.

On Saturday it’s our usual ‘ Steak Night’ and then on Sunday we are having a ‘ Roast Loin of Pork’ with all the trimmings. Watch this space.

As usual every day we are watching the TV – following all the series that we watch, as well as all the ‘ Quiz Shows’ and lots of new programmes that I find when channel hopping!

This morning as I have been typing/posting today’s Blog,  I was listening to the ‘ Lockdown Party Show’ on the three local radio stations, and I got the new ‘ Mystery Voice’ correct, again, it was ‘ David Essex’ – who we saw in original and first production of the award winning  “ Evita “ in London, at the ‘Prince Edward Theatre’ back in 1978, with Elaine Page, Joss Ackland, Mark Ryan & Siobhan McCarthy.

“ STAY SAFE AND WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
