A NOW CLEAR & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 8th/ APRIL 2020.    “ STATE OF ALARM DAY 25 “

I was up this morning as we needed to change our gas-bottle, which I put out last night, so the gas-bottle delivery man called down our street, which he did as usual, blowing his horn!

After freshening up we had a quick toast & tea before I got this evenings supper on the go; ‘ Braised Steak in a Rich Red Wine Onion, Leek & Mushroom Gravy ‘ – ‘ Spanish’ sliced Beef, dusted in seasoned flour and browned off, at the same time I sweated off the sliced Onions, Leeks & Baby Mushrooms, with a dash of ‘Lea & Perrins & Tabasco’ along with a good glug of Brenda’ s precious Red Wine! I then added a rich ‘ Demi-Glaze’ and cooked off the sauce ,coating the browned-off Beef in the casserole dish , ready to go in the oven this evening, served with Cabbage with Acelgas and Glazed Carrot Batons, along with the classic ‘ Pomme de Terre Rissolees ‘ – Boiled Baby New Potatoes in their skins, sautéed in foaming Parsley Butter until crisp & Golden!

This morning has started grey & overcast again, like yesterday, which later in the afternoon turned into a beautiful sunny day, hopefully the same today, reaching 18 degs+ by this afternoon, overnight down to 13 degs+ - over the next couple of days and across the ‘ Easter Weekend ‘ it’s staying the same, with a light breeze, hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – next week is now sadly looking a little unsettled with some moderate showers and patchy clouds, but still staying warm & sunny at times, even up to 21 degs+ by next Wednesday! The ‘ Rain’ will be warm!! Watch this space.

“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

Yesterday the ‘ Council’ made contact with us on the ‘Facebook Messenger’ – it was Maria, who we know, and works for the ‘ Foreign Residents Department’ – asking after our health and if we need any help, as we are on the ‘ Pensioners’ list! She is now our ‘ Mentor’ – keeping in touch with us ‘Old Ones ‘ – Brenda, nearly 78 & her ‘ Toy Boy’ Malcolm – only 75, later this year!!  ‘Thanks’

The ‘ Councils’ cleaning team are now working ‘flat-out’ – using over 85.000 litres of water & disinfectant every day, around the village, yesterday afternoon they came down out street and sanitized all the front of our houses and doorsteps! ‘ Thanks ‘
