THURSDAY 23rd/ APRIL 2020. “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 40 “
“ ST. GEORGE’S DAY “
We woke up a little early this morning as I
had left a space at the top of the shutters to let the light/sun in, normally,
at the moment, with have them on total blackout, so we turned over and had nice
lie in! After freshening up it was time for our regular fresh fruit (sliced Banana)
toast and tea to get another day on the go, here in an even very quieter sunny
Manilva.
After breakfast as I was listening to the 'Lockdown Party Show ' on ' Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW' as I was typing/posting today's Blog, the 'Music Quiz' came on, it was the old classic ' Rubber Bullets' with '10cc' - I then got the ' Mystery Voice' - 'Diane Abbott MP' - so I'm in both the draws on Friday morning, again!
The sun as I said, was out first thing and
the clouds have cleared as there is a stiff breeze, the sky is now blue and by
lunchtime it’s due to reach 19 degs+ - overnight down to 14 degs+ - yesterday
afternoon it went very hot on the sunny side of the street, as the light breeze
dropped, tomorrow and over the weekend it’s going to be mixed, with the possibility
of patchy rain & clouds, as the breeze drops a little, still hovering in
the high ‘teens’ - next week is now
looking rather unsettled again, with the ‘Wet-Stuff’ in the air on most days,
still with a light breeze, some sunshine at times, but still hovering in the
high ‘teens’ – by next Friday, the 1st of May, back up to 22 degs+ -
the following week, on all three of the
forecasts, is at the moment looking a lot more settled, watch this space.
“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “
As it was so nice & warm yesterday afternoon
I decided, after ‘ Masking/Gloving’ up, to
go down to the ‘ Suma’ supermarket for our weekly local shop, which as usual was
fully stocked and not busy, I then have to carry the heavy shopping bags back
up to the house, staying on the shady side of the street!
The ‘ LOCKDOWN’ here in Spain has now been
officially extended by a vote in the ‘ Congress – Parliament ‘ in Madrid, later
last night, after a debate of 11 hours, as the Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez,
secured the support he needed for the ‘ National Coalition’ government, so it’s now up to May 9th – with the
new rules for children coming into force from next Monday, watch this space.
This evening for our supper we are having ‘
Omelettes of Choice’ – Brenda, as usual, ‘Cheese’ ( Mature Cheddar/Parmesan)
and I have an old classic ‘ Paysanne ‘ ( small diced Potatoes, Shallots, Smoked
Bacon & Vegetables) - I first beat
three ‘ Campo Eggs’ with salt & white pepper, using a large fork, the designated
‘Omelette’ pan is heated and oiled, then dried with a kitchen paper, before
tossing in a knob of butter, followed by the beaten eggs, left a second, before
stirring and shaking the mixture over to the side, adding the Cheese or Warm ‘Paysanne’
fillings, folded over and turned out, onto a warm plate, so as the bottom of
the Omelette is on the plate, finally shaping the ‘ domed’ Omelette, with a kitchen paper. Served with
finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans and a Baked Potato.
“
STAY SAFE AND WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “
