A ' FRESH' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 19th/ APRIL 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM DAY 36 “

After a little lie in this morning, we freshened up and had a quick fresh fruit ( sliced Banana) toast and tea before getting into the 6th week of ‘ LOCKDOWN’ !

Before typing/ posting today’s Blog I sorted out today’s supper, with the help of the ‘ Second Chef’ – I prepared my now famous ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes – as usual ‘ hand-cutting’ the three layers of Potatoes, ready to go in a very hot oven this evening, meanwhile the ‘ Second Chef’ after peeling the Potatoes, was preparing the ‘ Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, Crushed Baby Carrots & Turnips, Creamed Baby Leeks and Garden Peas’ – I marinated the ‘ Spanish Lamb Steaks/Cutlets’ yesterday evening, I will ‘ flash-cook’ them this evening and then place them on top of the ‘ Boulangere ‘ Potatoes, as they crisp-off!

As we got up this morning we had another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun had broken through earlier and the sky was bright blue with a few patchy clouds, there was a good breeze so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 20 degs+ - overnight down to 13 degs+ - next week is now looking more settled as the breeze drops, staying mainly dry & sunny, hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – up to 21 degs+ by the end of the week, with just the small chance of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ returning at times, the following week, staying dry & sunny for all of the week, with a few patchy clouds, in the low 20s! “ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 - PANDEMIC “

The first main news here in Spain is that Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minister ( more like a President!) is going to the ‘ Congress’ – Parliament – to seek approval for his ‘ National’ coalition government to extend the ‘ Lockdown’ to May 11th – as predicted, then from May 11th there would be a ‘ cautious and progressive’ de-escalation of the confinement measures, in the 17 regions. From tomorrow children (up to 12?!) will be allowed to leave the home under controlled circumstances, to be announced later. Watch this space.

The two main things that we miss at the moment are of course going out for walks with all the dogs, sitting outside in the sunshine having a nice cool drink, taking in the sights & sounds of sunny Manilva, the other is not having any fresh flowers in the lounge and plants all the twelve wall pots on the front of our house! Yesterday lunchtime we made contact with Tim & Thea up in magical (cloudy) Mojacar on the ‘ Skype’ video, they are both fine & well, as well as Jo, over in Dubai ( 31 degs+!) and Ben in Manchester ( colder!) They are passing their time on large ‘Jigsaw Puzzles ‘ as at the moment they only have Spanish TV!  ‘ Stay Positive at all Times ‘

See below the ' Worlds' largest ' Jigsaw Puzzle' - with 31,300 pieces,  it shows 27 ' wonders' from around the World,  split into 27  puzzles,  which then interlock, you need a space of 28 by 6 feet (approx) and it costs $ 600! ' GO FOR IT ' !

“ STAY SAFE & SOUND INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
