A NOW CLEAR & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 20th/ APRIL 2010.    “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 37 “

After freshening up we had, as I was on the breakfast rota, a ‘Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda with mugs of hot/strong ‘ PG’ Tips Tea ( which we are running out off!) to start the sixth week in ‘ LOCKDOWN’!

This morning has started a little cloudy & overcast, the sun is at the moment attempting to break through, yesterday by the afternoon it was warm & sunny, so hopefully later it will be the same, there is a light breeze, so the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ is still in the air, reaching 19 degs+ - overnight 12 degs+ - tomorrow it’s going to be the same, then on Wednesday/Thursday it’s going to be dry & sunny, over the coming weekend we could have some ‘RAIN’ – but still hovering in the low 20s, next week is now looking more settled, with sunshine on most days, as the breeze drops back down, hovering in the low 20s – up to 22 degs+ at times, watch this space.

“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

The sixth week here in sunny Manilva, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ is looking, as usual, very quiet, in the routine, staying inside at all times, only going out ‘ Masked/Gloved’ up when necessary, down to the local shop for his fresh goods, as well as a small shop in the ‘ Suma’ supermarket, which has been a great help, since it luckily opened just before the ‘ Lockdown’

Hopefully our dear friend Leah’ will be going out on one of her shopping expeditions, down to ‘Mercadona & Super Sol’ in Sabinillas, one day this week, as we are starting to run out of some essentials, especially from the ‘Cosmetics/Toiletries ’ department!

As usual as I’m typing/posting today’s Blog I have been listening to the ‘ Lockdown Show’ on the three local radio stations, this morning I go the correct answers to the ‘ Music Quiz ‘ – ‘ Dire Straits’ with ‘ Money for Nothing’ and the ‘ Mystery Voice Quiz ‘ – ‘ Sir Steve Redgrave ‘!!

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of ‘ Spanish Lamb Steaks/Cutlets’ with the leftover Vegetables and ‘ Boulangere ‘ Potatoes, on Tuesday it’s going to be ‘ Pan-Seared Liver’ – Wednesday ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ – Thursday will be a choice of ‘ Omelettes’ – Friday is of course our ‘ Fish Supper’ and on Saturday ‘ Steak Night’ – Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.

Over in Everett, Ontario, Canada on Sunday lunchtime Sandra & Bill had a nice Prawn Salad with Marie Rose sauce, see below.

Last night after supper we settled down to watch the first new episode of the excellent ‘ Killing Eve ‘ – as all the old characters reappeared – as well as new ones, the story unfolded and came up to date, with just three killings to start, including at the very end, one of the main characters, ‘falling’ from the top of an office block!

This evening it’s the Final of ‘ University Challenge ‘ as ‘Imperial College London’ ( Brandon) take s on ‘Corpus Christi Cambridge’ ( Wang )  – with a pair of awesome ‘ supergeeks’ going head to head, see below.

“ STAY SAFE & SOUND INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
