It must be Friday morning as we were woken
up by the sound of the goods-delivery men sliding down all the pallets to the
local shop! After freshening up we had our usual fresh fruit (sliced Banana)
toast and tea to get another day in ‘ LOCKDOWN’ on the go!!
Yesterday evening we had a ‘ Facebook’ Message from David, over in Northwich,
Cheshire, to let us know that Jane’s mum, ‘Nan’ who was 99 years old, had died,
very suddenly in Hospital (Covid 19) after being taken in from her sheltered accommodation
earlier in the morning, we have known Nan for over 50 years+ - since I went to
work for her husband Bert at the ‘ Bridge Inn’ in Port Sunlight, on the Wirral,
back in the late 60s, it was her & Bert that told me to catch/marry
Brenda!!
‘ Happy Days & many Happy Memories’
This morning we have another dry day down
here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ and especially here in sunny Manilva, yesterday
stayed dry and later sunny also, there are a few patchy clouds with a blue sky
coming through, there is just a very slight breeze so by lunchtime it’s due to
reach 20 degs+ - over night down to 14 degs, on Saturday/Sunday the ‘ Wet-Stuff’
could return, but still staying warm ( 21 degs+) - next week is now looking a little unsettled, as
the breeze pick up a little, with patchy clouds, moderate to heavy rain on some
days, sunshine on others, still hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – the following week
is on all the forecasts looking dry & sunny! Watch this space.
Meanwhile over in Liverpool yesterday the ‘
Royal Liver Building’ at the Pier Head’ was looking rather spectacular at
sunset! See below;
“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “
This morning our friend Brian has very
kindly ordered online a new ‘Phone Set’ for us, to be delivered in the next 48
hours, after I asked him on the ‘Facebook’ messenger for help, as we need a new
phone set for our landline number, which receives all the ‘Hospital’
appointment calls etc, also Brenda’s ‘ Heart’
monitoring service is connected to it, as well as us making ‘Bank Transfer’
monthly calls to our ‘English Bank’! ‘Thanks’
See below;
Brenda has just ‘ Masked/Gloved’ up and
popped down to our local shop to top up with the fresh essentials etc, she has
to go back to the Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ tomorrow for the rest of our
prescription tablets, which were not due until then ( monthly)!
For our supper this evening we are having ‘
Goujons of Hake Fillet’ – coated in breadcrumbs from the local Bakery – shallow
-fried in Vegetable Oil - until crisp & golden, served with Homemade (
Brenda) ‘Tartar’ sauce and lots of Lemon wedges, accompanied with Garden Peas
(tinned) – made into ‘Petits Pois a la Francaise’ –by sweating-off small diced
Shallots & Bacon, in butter, with a little Chicken stock, before adding the
Peas and some shredded Iceberg Lettuce, seasoned to taste, not forgetting the triple-cooked
‘ Chips’!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
