A ' FRESH' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 22nd/ APRIL 2020.  “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 39 "

“ WORLD EARTH DAY 2020 “

After freshening up as I was on the breakfast rota this morning I had a ‘ Toasted Sausage Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of very hot/strong tea to set us up for the day ahead! Brenda cooked-off more ‘ English Pork Sausages’ yesterday so as we could have them for our breakfast this morning!

After the rain storms had passed over us yesterday, this morning we have a glorious start to today, the sun was out first thing, the clouds have cleared, there is a light breeze and the sky is bright blue, so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 21 degs+ - overnight down to 14 degs+ - tomorrow a little cooler, but still dry & sunny, as the breeze picks up, over the weekend it’s still hovering in the high ‘ teens’ but with the chance of patchy rain and going cloudy again, next week is now looking   mixed, with sunshine and showers, light breezes and still up in the high ‘ teens’ by next weekend back up to 22/23 degs+ - watch this space.

“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

The Spanish ‘ National Coalition Government ‘ have announced overnight, after doing a ‘ U-Turn’ -  that here in Spain, where we are under the strictest ‘LOCKDOWN’ in the World, that from this coming Sunday, the 26th April – when the ‘ LOCKDOWN’ will be extended to until the May 9th – that children aged 14 and under, will be allowed to leave their homes for accompanied walks, 15 to 17 olds will be able to carry them out alone, earlier in the day it had said that minors would only be able to leave the house to go to the supermarket, pharmacy or bank with a parent or guardian! Watch this space.

Nothing changes except the children above.

At lunchtime our dear friend Leah is going along to try and get through to the ‘Iceland/Overseas’ supermarket, along the coast, just past Sotogrande, in ‘Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro ‘ for some ‘ English’ essentials for all of us! ‘Fingers Crossed’ that the ‘Policia Local & National’ as well as the ‘ Guardia Civil & the Spanish Foreign Legion’ are in a good mood!! Watch this space.

Today it’s ‘ World Earth Day ‘ – an annual event created to celebrate the planet’s environment and raise awareness about pollution, which at this time is even more important, as this morning in the news and in all the newspapers is showed the results of the ‘ Lockdown’ from around the World, as all the major cities etc as well as the outside World have cleared the mists/air pollutions and are now bright & beautiful again for the first time in this century!

The ‘ Council’ have this morning here in sunny Manilva held their monthly ‘Council’ meeting via a ‘Zoom’ video link-up, at the same time the ‘Cleaning’ work force were washing down, sanitizing and humidifying all the street in the village, again, after the storms had passed.

At the moment they are sanitizing all our streets and houses ! See below;

As usual as I have been typing/posting today’s Blog I have been listening to the ‘ Lockdown Party Show’ via ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – I didn’t get the ‘ Mystery Voice’ this morning, but I got the ‘Music Intro Quiz’ – it was the ‘ Pet Shop Boys’ with ‘West End Girls’ – near the end of the show they played one of my favourite ‘ George Thorogood & The Destroyers’ tracks – “ Who Do Love “ – which I played very ‘ LOUD’- as the two speakers on my Mixing Desk as well the large Subwoffer’ vibrated ! I was then ‘ told-off ‘ by Brenda for disturbing all the neighbours – nothing that I can’t handle!! When you get the chance play the track ‘ LOUD’!!

PS; The new phone has just been delivered !

PPS; And is now working!!

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ topped with seared Pineapple Rings, garnished with seared Button Mushrooms and topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg, served with Garden Peas and of course triple-cooked ‘ Chips’ accompanied with ‘HP’ Brown sauce. Tomorrow evening it’s ‘Omelettes of Choice’ with a Baked Potato.

                                                 “ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
