A RATHER GREY & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 7th/ APRIL 2020.  “ STATE OF ALARM DAY 24 “

After freshening up we had or regular toast & tea before getting another day in ‘ LOCKDOWN ‘ (24)  on the go !

Brenda then ‘masked/gloved up’ and shot along to the Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ for some of our prescription tablets etc, on the way back she is calling into the local shop at the bottom of our street for the fresh vegetables that arrived this morning, by van not donkey today!

Leah is due at lunchtime to pick up our shopping list/cash, as she is going down to Sabinillas, hopefully, not being stopped by the ‘Guardia Civil/Policia Local/Army‘ – who are out in force, to ‘Mercadona & Super Sol’ ( see below) to pick up our essentials as well as her own. Watch this space.

This morning it’s rather grey & overcast at the moment with no sign of the sun breaking through, as it did yesterday, there is a light breeze so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 10 degs+ - overnight down to 12 degs+ - the rest of the week and over the ‘Easter Weekend’ it’s staying the same, with warm sunshine and partly cloudy, hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – with the breeze picking up a little – just a small chance of the ‘ wet-Stuff’ in the air, next week is now looking more settled, a little warmer & sunny, down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol ’and especially in sunny Manilva! Watch this space.

“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

The only local news today is that ‘ Mercadona’ is closed on Thursday, Friday & Sunday this week – as normal over the ‘ Easter Weekend’ – so hopefully it will not be too busy today as Leah arrives!

The ‘ Council’ is calling, from the Town Hall’ - all the pensioners in the village to check that they are fine & well and if they need anything.

PS; We are both fine & well, well stocked with food and the ‘Wine & Spirit’ cellars are full! “ Cheers”!!

This evening for our supper we are having ‘Homemade Burgers’ from our local Butchers in the village, he makes three sorts, ‘Beef, Pork & Chicken ‘! – Brenda has requested her favourite ‘ Cheese ‘ ( Gouda slice)  and I’m having my special ‘ stacked’ – “Big One” - topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg! We have ‘ Burger - Baps’ – which I lightly toast - they both contain fried Onion, Crispy Smoked Bacon, sliced Gherkins, Coz Lettuce & sliced Tomato! Served with hand-cut- triple-cooked ‘ Stringfellows’ and not forgetting the ‘ Heinz Tomato Ketchup’!!

As usual I have been listening to the ‘ Lockdown Show’ on the three local Radio Stations this morning as I have been typing/posting today’s ‘ Blog’ – I got the ‘ Mystery Voice ‘ this morning, it was Moria Stuart’ – the old BBC TV News presenter, I also guessed correctly the ‘Music Quiz’ – a blast from the past – ‘ Madness – with House of Fun ‘ – so I’m in both draws on Friday morning, again! Watch this space.
