A ' FRESH' & BRIGHT SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 14th/ APRIL 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM DAY 31 “

After freshening up we had our regular breakfast of fresh fruit (sliced Banana) toast & tea to get another day in ‘ LOCKDOWN’ on the go!

I then retired upstairs to the office/studio and first checked out the ‘E-Mails/Facebook, messages etc, then caught up with all the news, as usual, reading the online newspapers ( Daily Mail – El Pais ) - watching the news  ( BBC,ITV, Algeciras) from around the World, all the time listening to the ‘ Lockdown Show’ on the three local Radio Stations before settling down to type/post today’s Blog.

PS; I’m now listening to the excellent weekly ‘ David Sibbald – County Classics Show’  - on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2  & Online on the WWW ‘

We have a bright start to the day, the sky is blue and cloudy, there is a light breeze, so it’s looking settled for the rest of the day, with sunshine later, reaching 18/19 degs+ - overnight down to 13 degs+ - yesterday it stayed dry and by the afternoon the sun broke through, tomorrow we could have some of the Wet-Stuff, then a couple of clear days before the weekend when it’s going to be wet & windy, but still hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – next week is now looking a little more settled with sunshine! Watch this space.

“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

Yesterday afternoon we had our first knock/caller at our front door, it was a nice surprise and broke our routine, it was our friend Jan, ( the late 'Charlie's, the Water Dog mum!)  out walking her new dog ‘ Dixie’ ( named after the Everton footballer Dixie Dean!) – we had a nice chat, keeping our distance, her news was that Brian, is stuck back in Liverpool, he went over before the ‘Lockdown’ here and in the UK, for some family business, then the ‘Lockdown’ caught him, as all three of his booked flights were cancelled!

Today the ‘ Council’ are out in force, washing down all the streets, then they have just come down out street and sanitized, again, all the doors & windows etc, then the main humidifier went along ‘ Calle Mar’ as usual.

The ‘ National Government ‘ in Madrid have now allowed all non-essential workers to return to work ( too early?!) – as ten million masks will be handed out, after the economy was placed in ‘ hibernation’ mode! Watch this space.

Last night after supper, as usual, we settled down to watch the TV, I was channel hopping and found on ‘ BBC TV 2’ a documentary on ‘ Dolly Parton- Fifty Years at the Grand Old Opry ‘ – filmed in Nashville, Tennessee, with lots of guest singing all her old songs as well as her in concert – live!

Next was a documentary about her friendship with Emmylou Harris & Linda Ronstadt, back in 1987 when they recorded the studio album ‘ Trio’ and became lifelong friends, showing them at the time and now!

Finally it was ‘ Dolly Parton at Glastonbury ‘ back in 2014, in front of 180,000 concert goers!

Three hours of ‘ Dolly Parton ‘!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Pan-Seared Lambs Liver ‘ – lightly dusted in seasoned flour – ‘flash-cooked’ on a very hot griddle-plate – garnished with ‘Crisp Smoke Bacon’ and accompanied with a sauceboat of a rich ‘Red Wine ( thanks Brenda!) Onion, Shallot & Mushroom Gravy’ – served with Glazed Carrot Batons & Cabbage with Acelgas ( Swiss Chard ) – and of course Brenda’s famous ‘ Mashed Potato’!

PS, Tomorrow evening it’s ‘ Curry Night ‘!

“ STAY SAFE & SOUND INSIDE AT ALL TIMES "

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
