A ' FRESH' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 27th/ APRIL 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 44 “

After freshening up I first shot up ( Masked/Gloved up) to the ‘ Town Hall’ at the top of our street, to register for the new ‘Face Masks’ being handed out this morning to the children and older residents of the village.

See below;

When I returned I dropped off our rubbish ( my regular chore!) to the bins at the very bottom of our street, as I was on the breakfast rota, as usual on a Monday morning, I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon ‘ Dockers’ Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with her favourite sliced Mushroom, seared in the bacon juices with a knob of butter, which also ended up inside my ‘Butty’ as well, with mugs of very hot/strong ‘ PG’ Tips Tea, to start the 7th week in ‘ LOCKDOWN’ in the right direction!

We have a glorious start to the week, this morning, the sun broke through earlier and there is a very light breeze, the clouds have cleared and  the sky is now bright blue, so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 20 degs+ - overnight down to 12 degs+ - the rest of the week and over the coming weekend is now looking very settled and warm and sunny, hovering in the low 20s, with just a few patchy clouds at times, the breeze will drop even more by the weekend, as the overall daily temperatures start to rise, up to 23 degs+ by Sunday, next week is now going to be even better, as by next Tuesday it’s due to reach 26 degs+ - staying very warm & sunny all week, watch this space.

“ CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

As I said above we now have more new ‘Fasemasks’- produced by the regional government,  which are being handed out to the village this morning,  all controlled by the local ‘Policia’ in front of the Town Hall in ‘Calle Mar’

Yesterday was the first time in 42 days that the children, accompanied by their parents where let out for an hour in the fresh air, under the new rules.

This morning we have had the first official figures published by the ‘ Junta de Aldalucia – Regional Government ’ showing that here in sunny Manilva we have had only 3 confirmed cases, so far, showing the very quick response, by our Mayor, Mario, and his ‘Council’ was correct and worked, overall in Andalucia there are 38 small white villages/hamlets that are still totally free!

On Sunday the Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez announced, up in Madrid, that the ‘National Coalition Government ‘ were also now considering to let out all ‘ Spaniards’ for walks, including ‘ Seniors’ staring on May 2nd – still under guidance rules, watch this space.

Locally we are seeing some of the local shops re-opening, after being checked by the authorities, for screens, spacing arrangements etc, such as the ‘ English Bookshop’ and ‘ Marlow’s Fish N’ Chip’ shop! Watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having sliced ‘ Cold Roast Loin of Pork’ – we love ‘ Cold Cuts’ of roast meats, with the left-over ‘Vegetables & Pork Fat Roasted Potatoes’ – tomorrow its’ going to be ‘ Chicken N’ Chips’ – on Wednesday a ‘Braised Beef Casserole’ with Brenda’s famous ‘ Mashed Potato’ – Thursday will be a ‘ Find Something in the Fridge Day ‘ – we will be back to our regular ‘ Fish N’ Chip Supper’ on Friday with ‘ Mushy Peas ‘ ( thanks to Leah!) – Saturday will be, of course, our ‘ Steak Night ‘ – Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.

Yesterday evening after supper we settled down to watch Episode 2 of the excellent ‘ Killing Eve’ – with just two surprise killings this week – as the plot became more complicated – as Eve & Villanelle – found out that each other were not killed/dead!

                                                  “ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
