After freshening up as I was on the breakfast
rota this morning I had my favourite, a “ Dockers Butty “ – ‘Toasted Crispy
Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – made with ‘ thick’ toasting bread, smothered in ‘ HP’
Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with her favourite sliced Baby Mushrooms
seared in the bacon juices with a knob of butter, some of which ended up inside
my butty, with mugs of hot/strong tea to get another day in ‘ Lockdown’ on the
go.
As usual at the moment it’s started grey
& overcast with a light breeze so by lunchtime it will hopefully get a
little brighter as the sun breaks through, as it did yesterday, reaching 18
degs+ - overnight down to 13 degs+ - sunny with a few patchy clouds, staying
like this up and included ‘Easter Sunday’ – next week is now looking a little
unsettled, to say the last, as the next ‘ Atlantic’ front comes in, bringing
with it some of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ as well as getting a little windy, but still
hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – with sunshine on some days, watch this space.
This morning our dear friend Leah was going
to attempt getting through the ‘Police/Guardia Civil/Army’ road blocks, to go
across to Estepona to the ‘ Hypermarket – Carrefour ‘ to pick up a new ‘Phone-Set’
for us, sadly they are closed for the ‘Semana Santa weekend, she then was going
to come back along the coast roast past Sabinillas, to call into the office of ‘
Helicpteros Sanitarios’ to pay our six-month members fee, which is due, it’s
very important as it’s our first main cover in emergencies, sadly they are also
closed until Monday, which is not a ‘ Bank Holiday’ over here in
Spain!
All the best plans can change, as Leah’s
son ‘ Deemy’ was not very well overnight and she didn’t get to bed until early
this morning, he’s rather poorly, so for now it’s back to ‘Plan B’ – Watch this
space.
There were not many sightings of the ‘ Blood/Red
Moon’ on Wednesday night, due to the cloud cover, so just one picture taken
above the entrance to the ‘Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ – see below.
The ‘ National Government’ in Madrid are
now, as expected, looking to continue the ‘ LOCKDOWN’ past the 26th April,
to consolidate the current further spread of the ‘ Coronavirus’ – as Spain is
one of the hardest-hit countries, watch this space.
Meanwhile here in sunny Manilva the ‘
Council’ led by our neighbour & friend, Mario, are doing an excellent job with
all the measures that they have taken to keep us all safe & sound, at all
times!
Yesterday evening after the 8-00 pm regular
‘ clapping & music’ I masked/gloved up and popped along to the Bank in ‘Calle
Mar’ for some cash from the machine, all our friends & neighbours along the
street, that we have not seen since the start of ‘ Lockdown’ where still out on
their balconies so they waved and clapped me, as well as asking after Brenda, ‘
Thanks’!
For our supper this evening we are having our favourite ' Grilled Chicken Wings' - Brenda likes to pick them with her fingers, I prefer to take the meat off the bone, they will be served with finely sliced ' French' Green Beans and Baked Potatoes.
“
STAY SAFE AND SOUND INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “
