I was up very early this morning and shot
out on my travels, I called back in to the surgery and made our appointments for
our ‘ Gripe – Anti-Flu Jabs’ – on Thursday lunchtime, I then went down to our
Bank in Sabinillas to finalize our new ‘Savings Account’ transfer, next I went
along to ‘ Castillo de Duquesa’ to call into the old studio to see Andrew, he
was on air with the morning show, I dropped off some documents re- the old ‘
Red Fiesta’ that I sold to his daughter, finally on the way back I called into the
garage to top up the petrol.
While I was out Brenda saw ‘ Reina’ back
with us for the day, She’s here again on Thursday & Friday, when I got back
to the house we took ‘ Pax’ out for his first walk of the day, his last with us
for now, Jane is now collecting him this
afternoon, as I have said before we are going to miss him and can’t wait to see
him back with us in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ in the not too distant future!
This morning it’s in Brenda’s description ‘
Fresh & Crisp’ – the sky is bright blue and clear, the sun is out and there
is just a little cooling breeze, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 20 degs, then
overnight dropping to 10 degs, over the next couple of days and into the
weekend its going a little warmer and keeping dry, the snow has arrived in
Northern Spain, see the chart below.
We then had out breakfast of fresh, local,
Orange Juice with ‘ Smoked Bacon Butties’ smothered in ‘ HP Brown’ sauce with
mugs of steaming ‘ PG Tips’ tea! I then got the evenings supper on the go ‘
Chicken, Mushroom & Smoked Bacon Tarragon Casserole’ – the aromas are wafting
upstairs to the office/studio as I’m typing the Blog; the casserole is made
with diced Onions & Garlic, Carrots, Leeks, Celery & Green Peppers,
Smoked Bacon and Mushrooms, all sweated
off in a good slug of Brenda’s White Wine, the cubed Chicken Breast is dusted
in seasoned flour and lightly browned off before adding to the casserole with a
strong Chicken & Vegetable stock, lots of Tarragon & seasoning, along
with the secret ingredients, to taste, then the ‘Second/Vegetable’ Chef watches
it cook out, we are having our favourite Green Beans & Parsley New Potatoes!
Yesterday evening we had one of our ‘ Quiz
Nights’ before watching the final episode of ‘Dark Angel’- the two-part series
about the true-life story of the first women poisoner ‘ Mary Ann Cotton’ played
by Joanne Froggatt, she was hanged at the age of 40 after secretly killing,
with arsenic, her husbands, her mother, her children & stepchildren, 16/20
victims in all, taking out life insurance on them all!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
